bought a plastic 80% ar10 kit years ago.  Struggled through the process with a drill press.
Then either cross threaded the buffer tube or the rear was crooked or out of alignment with the bolt carrier.  Too much drag of carrier against the buffer tube to reliability cycle.
How do I get rid of it or should I just chop it and keep it in case THEY come after it one day?

I'd trash it.

Keep it and turn it into $$ at the next buy-back.

Keep it in case they have one of those "buy backs" in your area.
