Just finished up a build using Aero 9mm upper and lower, and all the other parts are JP.  The bottom of the bolt is dragging slightly on the left side of the ejector, near the top.  I tried to bevel the top of the ejector slightly, but it still drags.   It looks like the ejector either needs to be shortened, or bent over slightly to the right.  Is it common for this to happen?  It looks like an easy fix, but figured I'd ask here first.

Do you have another bolt you can try in your build to see if it replicates the problem?

It is common for the ejector on Colt style lowers to need some adjustment. I am not familiar enough with the Glock style lowers.

You want the ejector to be more towards the center of the bolt.

Tweaking the ejector is common practice in AR-9's, but usually it is the other way it needs to go.

Get a good grip and bend it a little at a time until you get wherre you need to be.

This. I had to do this on my Colt style lower. I would think Glock style would be similar.

Thanks for the replies.  I bent it over some and it looks good now.  Nice and centered in the bolt channel and no drag.

Those familiar with the Olympic Arms (OA) K series PPC's will recall that the OA PCC ejector intentionally drags on (the bottom of) the bolt.  The OA system ejector drag provides a substitute for added reciprocating weight enabling a lower actual weight for the same degree of recoil management; and also provides coulombic damping for a smoother feel.  However, as well as higher initial cost, at least one other down side is that the ejector is a spring loaded mechanism that unlike added mass that is typically permanent, the OA ejector is subject to eventual failure and the required replacement.  "The yin and the yang, Grasshopper."

MHO, YMMV, etc.  Be well.

Would you mind posting pics of the ejector and the base of the ejector?

FWIW......the OP posted above over a month ago saying he solved the problem.

If you want to see a pic of 9mm ejectors, you can do a google image search and see dozens of pics.

I’ve seen quite a few. Even though his is fixed, there’s something I’m looking for which will still be obvious in a photo.

4-step guide to make (almost) any AR9 run 100%

#4 toward the bottom of the page has all the pictures, showing proper alignment with the bolt, etc.

The ejector tip should be flat, square, parallel to the bolt face, and SNUG in the corner of the bolt groove, just barely touching on the side and top with no gap.
