Quite a beauty, OP.

But pardon me if I doubt this is your last.

Thanks for all the nice comments.
The lower is a John Brace profiled and engraved, (thinking pre 2012).
The mag button John Thomas.
The upper is period correct along with the bolt carrier group with big head firing pin. Port cover Heatnbeat reproduction.
The charging handle I'm thing is a reproduction
The Barrel is period correct with "C" marked extension, M1 marked in front of sight/gas block
and misstruck  VP port side between sight/gas legs. Barrel looks to have never been shot..
Edgewater buffer.
Japanese made Colt 3X20 first gen fine cross hair scope.
Got the beautiful 601 furniture off GunBroker. It is an "A" stock.

As for the build I've had it together a few times with a 1:12 "VP" marked barrel. And a John Thomas painted stock set.
This is the most period correct the I have had it. Not thinking doing anything else to it but shot and enjoy it.

I remember you working on this rifle before it was this configuration years ago when it was still in the under construction phase, it's been a long road.
