Target Sports USA has some different options that might work for you. In .223 they have some Federal Hornady and Blackhills 55 gr soft point’s available. I just picked up some 5.56x45 loads. Hornady 75 gr interlock HD sbr loads and also some Blackhills mk262mod1-c 77gr otm. I was glad to get some hotter loads to play with and the test sheet packed in the mk262 ammo had some respectable accuracy figures.

It’s been tough lately as I’m finding out it’s 2023 I need to get with the times. I was looking at Federal Fusion as well. In my experience Eid it’s good for game it’s good for two legged predators during home defense as well. |

62gr Federal Fusions are also available.
Same bullet as Gold Dot. Speer will be fancy nickel cases. Fusion is Brass All are .223, I dont think they sell a 5.56 Gold Dot anymore. All I found are over $1/rd unfortunately. I pine for Salad Days again |

Speer still loads all 3 flavors of gold dot. I however haven’t seen any Winchester Ranger 223 in years I am sure they still load it just haven’t seen any. I believe RA556B Ranger 64gr Nosler was discontinued. A good alternative to Ranger is Federal TRU especially the 64gr JSP.

The Winchester Ranger Bonded is discontinued. We used it as a duty load at my department and switched to the Federal Fusion MSR. It uses the 62 grain Gold Dot bullet but is crimped for use in a semi auto.

They may not have been at one point but as you can seen in the picture posted from topgunpilot20 they are crimped and sealed. I did notice on my 75gr gold dots I got last year and this year are sealed I have had some from 2018-19 that were not sealed. |
