I just finished building the rifle on top for my wife.  It is a true rifle gas dissipator.  Much emphasis was placed on weight reduction.  Tips the scales at 5.8 lbs.

Just got in a KAC M5 rail set with covers and vert grip. I had a plan in mind but after going through the whole thread (started thread, by page 10 I needed one, by page 30 I was looking for an M5 set,...) I really dont know what kind of dissy I want. I've got PLENTY of other ARs but as a rifle designed around it's long sight radius, I don't know exactly what I want.

Bummer of a dilemma but I'll survive. 😁

FDE Dissy for the win. Wow. I wanted mine to be either irons or red dot co witnessed with the FSB but that is just awesome.

Also, what calibers have been in this thread? 223/5.56 obviously dominate but one set up like your FDE with ACOG might be very cool and have great practical use in 6.8, .458 SOCOM, 6.5G, etc.

Took the kids shooting yesterday.  My Spike's upper on my son's lower.
He's a good shot, and only 15.
My daughter is just starting, but had a good eye.

Beats me.  I missed them when that was first posted, but got one a couple of days later.  I seem to recall seeing them in stock again briefly a couple of weeks ago.

Received the remaining needed parts last week, and just need to send it out to get the FSB pinned.

We all know what MOE dissipators look like, and that's what I had until yesterday.

I know it's even more of a "mock" dissy, but I wanted to freefloat my barrel, and I had a spare Troy Alpha rail laying around.  I know they're not cool or popular anymore, but I like it.  Also, the FSB is an Armalite clamp-on, and it is not touching the rail.

Sorry for the low res.  The pic was taken in the evening.

That looks good man! I like my Alpha rails. Wouldn't buy them again in the days of MLOK, but I've got a stash of rail sections for them so I'm certainly not hurting when I get them set up.

I picked up one of their barrels, I think it's the same barrel in this kit.  Not looking for precision but how do these compare to chrome lined or nitride for durability/ rust prevention?  Are they 2 MOA or better? Chromoly barrels I think.

I haven't built it up yet as I'm trying to decide between doing a complete upper with this barrel and KAC M5 I have or having ADCO use an existing RRA complete gun and turn it into a dissy.  I'd like a CMP freefloat tube for the M5 to ride on just because.  That adds to the cost either way.  Leaning FF because I'd like to get an ACOG for it someday.  The tan dissy with the ACOG and SOPMOD posted a few pics back is just awesome and I'll do something close to that.

Thanks fellers!

Ever since the 12.0 was discontinued, I've wanted one more and more.  They're certainly getting hard to find.

It's actually a Spinta Precision dissipator barrel.  I believe the gas port diameter is .110.  ADCO taper pinned the FSB.
