I sent a photo of my most recent build to the owner of ar15discounts as I'd purchased a Faxon barrel, Radian Raptor LT CH, and some other components from them. Yesterday I received an email from Dustin informing me that in about two weeks they are going to introduce a new line of handguards sold under the name "Dirty Bird" and here's a photo of one of the prototypes:

ETA: 9.5", 13.5", and 15" lengths



No other info. They're supposedly made by the same company that makes STNGR handguards so I hope they're competitively priced.

(Other than being an extremely satisfied customer I have no relationship with either STNGR or ar15discounts)

I like the look better than STNGR Handguards.

I prefer a full-length Picatinny rail at 12 o'clock. Gives you a lot more versatility compared to this style.

The upside to this pictured design is that there are eight positions for M-Lok slots vs. three. On a very short handguard the cut-out picatinny serves as a hand stop. I, too, would prefer a full picatinny on a longer handguard.

Here's a question....why not post this in new AR products, AR discussions, or AR uppers sections ??

Hopefully it is under $50. I can already buy matrix handguards, made in USA, for $50~ from Chandler hardwoods. Is this dirty bird imported?

If STNGR does indeed make them then US-made in TX

I have a Matrix handguard (15") but thus far have not used it as I'm into pistol builds.
