I've got all three major brands myself. OKW, PLHv2, M300, M600, and a Rein 1.0 and 2.0.

I have found that my light Surefire caps do not need dielectric grease using either Unity tactical Hot Buttons or Modlite Modbuttons, do not flicker either, and the CD Rein(s) is very dim to my eyes compared to either Modlites, and that's a major deal breaker right there with me IMO. Boom.

But cool sample sized story review anyways, but you do you and enjoy your CD's.

Don’t mind this guy trying to piss in your Cheerios. He’s done it so much and caused so many people to hate him he changed his name. Obviously didn’t change his ways though.

I like Cloud for a variety of reasons but I’ll cover why I don’t choose others anymore.

Mixing and matching parts on rifles is cool. With lights it is not. I can also see the color of Modlite’s illumination better than I can see what it’s illuminating. Might be my eyes, but when it’s turning everything a cool white color, I’m not a fan. Using cool lights in winter when there’s snow on the ground is especially awful. The owner’s antics were the final nail in the coffin. The guy has so many temper tantrums and emotional outbursts I can’t see myself supporting it.

As for Surefire, well, they’re definitely classic reliability. Like a 1996 Corvette, if Chevrolet stopped doing any kind of updates after, and still sold the same exact car as a 2022 model. They need to do something quick, and I suspect they will. But like the past few years, will it already be so behind the curve it’s starting new as a loss.

Clouds are beefy. Their new focus on making all of their lights modular is a huge step in the right direction. Their switches are second to none, unless you do that mix and match thing which is still up for debate. But when it comes to bomb proof lights and throw, they’re undisputed. I also happen to much prefer a warm light, but that comes down to the user. Cloud lights will also reduce output as they die, versus others that just flicker a couple times before shutting off.

Nice input.

Yeah, the fact ML and Arisaka depend on SF tail caps is, dare I say, lazy. Especially when there's potential compatibility/ reliability issues.

Didn't know ML owner was like that. This is the only social media I participate in, but duly noted.

Still dig SF but yeah, the new turbos better be good for them to continue to compete.

Yup, personal preference - warm vs cool light but I do prefer the CD.

He's a troll, I wouldn't have known he had even tried to troll me again if it wasn't for you quoting his entire wall of narcissist trash in tech.

As for my name change since I still obviously live in his head rent free because of his mouth that got him there in the first place, I blocked him because he was always wanting a fight with me. Such as now.

Did you know why he ran his mouth? Let's put it out there then:

-I'm not a fan of 10.5 barrels in 5.56. Guess who just happens own one himself always wanting to stalk my posts over it
-I like Trijicon. Guess who prefers the Chinese made PA versions and wanted to argue by post stalking with too over a personal decision just like the 10.5 barrel above
-I like Aimpoints. Guess who doesn't and wanted to argue about that too with my decision to own them over his not to
-And for lights, I like Modlite and think it's the better product. A known SME even posted saying it's really subjective and explained the finite details about the duifferences that separate the two brands. Surprise, surprise, who wanted to fight with over that too

When the site had the option to change names finally, I did because when I first signed up I used my first name like a dumbass. Meaning foot in mouth's false narrative is exactly that. Confirmation bias is an actual thing and he's proving it right now. He's also proving that he has no integrity either, because his other false narrative that hArDlY aNyoNe lIkEs mE is also another fishing tale.

Thank you olds442tyguy for proving me right about you. And if this thread gets locked too, you'll have yourself to blame again for being the one who set this off like the other times you post stalked me.

@DetroitSounds

Modularity is something great to have and I own way too many cross brand samples that continue to do work for this to be an actual issue.

But if it's not for you, then it is not for you and honestly you may have done things wrong that got you here with that POV to be honest. There is no other way to explain it why my items missed the I hate Modlite memo and here is why narrative with problems that never happened with me.

My Surefire 600DF did have a problem. It was dimming even with fresh batteries. Either with the Surefire pressure pads or aftermarket. So I tried aftermarket. All of them. Nothing worked. So I replaced the head with an OKW and it's been problem free.

Between both CD and Modlite, I had seen both demonstrated side by side by SMR professionals. It was a night and day difference between the two brands with the CD's looking like they were on dead batteries, meanwhile I was able to make everything out with the Modlites. So that's why I prefer them, and having that scout light modularity is always a plus too which seals the deal with TBH.

As for what was what on social media, I don't follow them around like some gossip girl and knowing who's this is coming from was more than likely an embellished tall story than anything else really.

Sorry Detroitsounds. Didn’t want him to discourage you, but wasn’t expecting THAT. I’ll take the blame for the above book of shit.

And I like ACOG’s and think Aimpoints are the best red dot made. My shorty with gratuitous Aimpoint and Cloud Defensive porn.
