In regard to the AR Charging Glass (ARCG), it is a bit of a beast for as small as it is. 95% of the feedback has been great and most rifles accept it without flaw. Some simply have not. I have one rifle myself that breaks them straight out the gate and we have 3 others that they have been on for almost a year. Right now we figure it is because of the tightness of the build. That's why we give them away with each package. Many guys come back and buy the stand alone product after they know they it works for them. Being a reloader and also being annoyed by the dented cases, this seems like a good idea. I had always contemplated putting something on there to soften the blow, but never really got around to it. When i was thinking about it, I didn't have time to make something, and when I had time to try and make something, I wasn't thinking about it.
For the price, and time saving of making something myself, I figured I will give it a try. |

Just got mine. Install was stupid simple. Will have to wait a bit for range report. I'm already running an adjustable gas block so the damage to my brass was pretty no final but I'm hoping this will keep things in a tidy pile.

The ARCG is a thin piece of poly with adhesive that sits on the lower receiver under the charging handle to prevent the standard metal on metal friction.

Sir, we will be happy to send you a couple more. If there is any oil on it or the directions are not followed there is a chance it may come off however, the product is known to stay on cerakoted rifles for well over a year and put through cleaning machines and stay on. There is a chance you got a defective piece of adhesvise so I would be more than happy to send you some. Put another one on, push down all over the part, let it sit overnight and let the pressure sensitive adhesive take hold. Absolutely, it should all come off at one time. I can't recall much if any residue being left. If any is left it will come off with finger pressure.

Product update: Over 1600 units sold. 4 returns, 2 for unknown reasons on Amazon, 3 refunded because they did not have standard AR uppers, 2 customers have had a hard time with the adhesive to date but, we sent out replacements. A gun shop in Texas wrote us and told us they ran their uppers through the ultra sonic cleaning machines twice and the parts stayed on and a Border Patrol Agent recently wrote to tell us he has had one of our samples on for over 2 years and run well over a 1000 rounds over his.

Alright, I may have found a "negative" (I use the term very loosely) in that it performs exactly as described. I'm using a can, AGB, and Armaspec SRS buffer and already had a pretty gentle ejection but with the deflector my rounds are piling neatly at about 1 o'clock. The only reason I'm counting this as a downside is that it's throwing my brass forward through my shooting window and across the line. From my seat I would have been able to recover maybe one out of every fifteen rounds.
Again, this is performing exactly as designed AND I had no brass to sweep up afterwards but if the goal was to protect the brass to reload it, with my particular rifle at my particular range it would have been extra effort to actually collect the brass. That said, I wish this had been standard on every rifle when I was doing any kind of rifle qual or shoot and move exercise. |

We suggest changing them out after 1500 rounds depending on how much you shoot. If you follow the directions putting the product on initially and let the Pressure Sensitive Adhesive really work. It will stay on there for a long time. The adhesive is amazing. So really the answer ends up being... change it when you don't like the way it is starting to look or when you see a degradation in performance. There have been guys run unknown 1000's over it. I shoot lefty and since I have a home range I normally pick up brass that is easy to find so my property stays cleaner. I also sell the brass. |
