Looking at a 10.5" chrome lined barrel. Anyone have a Green Mountain barrel? Accurate?I'm also wondering what the gas port diameter is. I was looking at the Faxon 10.5" chrome lined but the gas port is .081, which seems pretty big. Would likely be way over gassed when suppressed, I would think.

ETA: how are DS Arms barrels? Their 11" chrome lined has a .072 gas port.

They are good to go and produce quality barrels. My gm8 is great and send to be gassed fine .078 would be a guess doesn't seem over gassed. That being said no idea on the 10.5 port size. I think I remember someone saying it was on the larger side of I remember correctly.

They have a presence here. Might be worth reaching out to them to see if they will disclose

Good to go. They make barrels for many reputable brands like Colt. Two of my Colt 6920's have Green Mountain Barrels.

They also make very accurate 10/22 match barrels. GTG.

For reference on gas port sizing, for 10.3" barrels .070 is the standard for suppressed/unsuppressed function when using normal-powered 5.56. I'd expect something similar for a 10.5" would be in order.

Yeah that's big.... especially if going suppressed.

Grab a DD 10.3 from Lanbos. Apparently their new barrels at least the 10.3 and 11.5 have been sized down in the past 6 months. I just ordered a 11.5 but it's not here yet.

I'm reading the 11.5's are at .069ish now.

GM is good to go though.. Grab one of BRT Microtune gas blocks with a set port in it.

I need a 10.5, 10.3 won't have enough clearance.

The customer support rep may not know that different length barrels have different size gas ports, .087 would be right for a longer barrel with rifle gas.

That barrel only comes in 16" mid, 10.5" carbine, and 7.5" pistol. I'm not sure what normal is for a 16" mid port.

The only reason I'm not getting a DD 10.3" is that I have a Geissele 10" Federal OD Green rail on the way, and the 10.5" with a shim will make a suppressor sit nearly flush to the rail. This futile search for a suitable barrel makes me want to sell the Federal rail when I get it, buy a 9.5" Mk4 or Mk8 amd the 10.3" DD barrel!
