Looks great....I like the retro look....when I see these rifles, it reminds me when I was younger, watching the Vietnam war on TV news, mid 1960's and seeing the soldiers walking around wih these rifles....cigarette packs on the side of their helmets

Nice Mike...
I couldn't resist the BRN-10 barrel sale myself...
I've only shot the carbine since I installed the barrels...
Light weight barrels on the carbine and black one brown stock has the fluted barrel with the A2 FSB...
Scoped rifle has a DPMS light weight hunter barrel installed...

I just need to know how accurate this barrel could be, and I need a scope for that.

Nice builds!  So standard rear sights line up ok with those fixed gas blocks, with non-adjustable front posts?  Also, where did you get your LR308 sized carry handles?  I need to try to find one of those (or an actual C7/A2 style LR308 upper)

So how did the accuracy testing go? I’m interested in finding out how the lightweight barrel did for you.

What machining was needed to fit the aero upper?  The angled contour at the rear presumably, but did you also need to clearance the bottom surface of the upper or the lugs?

I just trimmed the back radius away. It was a 40-ish deg angle.

Did a couple of passes and then checked it on the lower. Then rounded the ends of the cuts on the buffing wheel by hand.

The inside is not super pretty (yet) but it fits like a bank vault.

Here's my target. It strings vertical if you put too much pressure on the forend.

@mike_nds
So have you taken it to the range anymore? Any updates on accuracy?
