This is a very neat thread & appreciate the pics of the fine builds folks have put their sweat, tears & money into.  Now that I have a couple of AR's specific to needs the thought has turned to a CAR-15 in the "just because" realm given the bookshelves in the house filled with SF history. Having located the usual "internet shootouts" of flashhiders - including one by itself - but not found it compared, one of the questions I have is:

Has anyone with one of these ever taken it out at late dusk or evening & can give a comparison relative to the average A2 device?  Don't need lab data, just would appreciate someone's feedback of how successful a device this was, having never fired one.

Colt M16's and XM177's whose serial numbers end in 666 are cool (and truly evil black rifles). I think this one is late 1970's (the best time ever). Sorry, not to hijack the thread.....carry on....

All the Retro Colts I have seen have a serial prefix of: 905xxxV
