So I was ordering other things from Bud's Gun Shop anyway, who seem to be the place to go for anything Thermold, so I grabbed one of the current production 30's just for the hell of it, and it got here today.
Overall, it certainly has the same look as the Canadian; the main difference is at the bottom, under the lowest "rib," where there currently are some logos, and text, and such, to the point where you wouldn't be able to fake a maple leaf. I don't know if that's intentional or not, but I thought it might be an interesting data point.
Question for those of you with the Canadian ones, or I guess any others - do they have a lot of rough edges that I assume are left over from the mold? I ordered a few Mini-14 Thermolds earlier this year (also just for the halibut), and those seemed a little unfinished... but this one seems worse. I haven't used any of them yet, so we'll see how that goes, but man, they're very different from a Pmag in the AR world, or even the Tapco mags in the Mini world.
Anyway, cool find, OP.
