Sounds a bit like a Bushmaster XM15 upper or any other C7-type carbine uppers that were popular on the commercial market back in the mid/late 90s to the early 2000s. Post pics?

If it does have a large front pivot pin hole, you have a Colt Sporter II carbine upper. (Unless Bubba made the hole bigger. )

We aren't supposed to answer anywhere but the appraisal thread.

I am not up on my market values, it kind of varies depending on geographic location and who wants it bad enough. The upper will only directly fit an SP1 or Sporter II lower, an adapter bushing is needed for a mil-spec lower. It is a somewhat desirable "C7" type upper though.

It is a Colt R6420 AR-15 A2 Sporter II carbine upper assembly. These had A1 and C7 type uppers when they were made. It would have some value as a whole to someone who was looking for a large hole upper assembly for their Sporter II large hole lower.
