Very nice.  These are just my style.

I’m especially fond of the original style M-4 with a2 sights.  I have one just like it and they are so good.

I've read nothing about them having a bad reputation. Sometimes they take awhile to get your order filled but customer service is pretty good.

Here's my carry handle rigs along with one that is in progress towards being a carry handle Dissy. Two are detachable carry handles, but I have 3 A2 uppers on order so that I can dump the detachable handles. The one with the A2 upper is a 7.62x39 for which I have an etched dust cover on order.

You might get the impression I like Dissy's and I like to keep them simple. Sorry, not much of a photographer...didn't even get my feet in the pic!

Everyone should have an AR with a carry handle... This one feels just right.

Spike's 14.5 CHF P/W Dynacomp Brake
Bushmaster Carry Handle
BCM Mid Length PKMR
Spike's Florida HTF Lower
ST-T2 Buffer
CMMG Parts Kit (or maybe that's the Aero kit, can't remember)
ALG Trigger
Magpul this and that...

Del-Ton upper on PSA lower.  The rubber butt pad is there because a petite lady friend wanted to shoot it and was a little afraid of the recoil.

Now she has a couple of AR's of her own, including a Colt 6920 (I'm so proud of her).

I also have a CR6920 that I just threw a carry handle on. Although I just ordered an Impact Weapons scout light mount for the handguard. But I'm going to leave it like that for the foreseeable future!

@Metzger31 can you pop off the bottom half of that handguard and post some close ups on how that grip is attached? I'm putting mine back together and I have a repro gangster grip for it but I kind of want to modify an A2 for it.

That wood furniture is hot. How do you like it over the normal A1/A2 stuff?

It's nice stuff. A bit heavier than polymer equivalents, obviously. The handguards don't have any ventilation, either, so it's not something you're going to want to do a ton of mag dumps with.

@CMCctx I'm away for work, but basically I just used a saw and chopped the grip and used a short fat bolt and a washer and nut. I'm still playing with it, even with loctite it will still twist around a little

Thanks for that bro! Kind of what I'm thinking about. I might cut and file some channels to mate up to the pic slots on my RIS and attach it to one of the 1/4-20 holes

Everything looks good gentleman.
I'm wondering tho, and maybe it's just me, does it seem that the detachable carry handle riffles just look... Off... compared to an A1/A2?

Why go through the hassle of doing all that when this exists?

Okay, this seems to be the place to ask this question. What would you folks think of a mount that replaces the A2/A4 rear sight that allows you to mount one of those tiny pistol red dots in it's place?

You mean like remove the A2 sight guts and mill that area for the MRDS's footprint? Sounds cool.
Link Posted: 2/7/2021 1:11:41 PM EDT
[#36]
That actually sounds cool AF, if that's what you're talking about.

If it's just replacing the sight assembly for a pic rail that's probably more trouble than it's worth. You'll lose iron sights capability when you could just run a rail on the handle and keep both.

But again, milling out that area for RDS - especially one with a rear sight built in or attachable like Leupold's - that would be belle of the ball.

I like the idea, but this is available and the dot being higher up is more comfortable imo.

Now i think there should be more direct mount options for specific red dots yes.

I find form following function to be aesthetically more pleasing than vica versa. Especially in terms of modifying handguards to make them more functional. Case in point: covers over quadrails.

No I still need to, though. I also need to send this barrel in for a chop and P/W. It's 14.5" right now so it won't get chopped much, but anything helps when the AEM5 is long as fuck
