For the price go 7075. LMT tubes with dry film lube is all I use.

Advantage, no, not really. 7075 is a stronger metal and a little pricier than 6061. 6061 is plenty strong for a buffer tube, but given the mariginal price difference, if any, most will recommend 7075. Why not go for the stronger if not much of a price difference.

T 6061-Tensile Strength – 45,000 psi
T 7075-Tensile Strength – 83,000 psi What do you intend to do with the gun? 6061 is probably good for 95 % of AR owners. Just not me. |

My concern is mortaring the buttstock to clear a malfunction. Beyond that, it probably doesn’t matter

Use a 7075 buttstock... it’s like 87 cents more expensive and WAY stronger.
No brainer. I think all of PSA’s receiver extensions are even 7075 |

The price difference is negligible, go 7075.

I try to look for 7075 specific REs now (no making assumptions), they all seem to be good parts. BCM, DD, Stag, and CMMG have been great for REs. |

I've bought a couple Anderson REs that were under $20, 7075 and machining was spot on. Aero are nice too.
