My PSA 4" AR works like a charm, but everyone raves about how these complex buffers make the recoil smoother and more linear.

Almost all the information I have seen on the captured spring, Aktiv and hydraulic buffers relates to 8"+ barrel lengths with elevated pressures, etc.

I don't need to change dwell times, or increase spring rates behind the buffer, etc.

Out of the three options, what is just going to smooth it out?

This is completely a "want" and not a "need".

Weigh current buffer.

Buy a slightly heavier buffer.

It may improve your felt recoil.

Tubbs flatwire buffer spring
I also use spikes 9mm buffer
Same for both my 9mm ARs one is 7 1/2" and other is 16" this helped smooth out both
Both shoot any ammo, I mostly use 124gr

I am using the solid buffer that PSA put in it.

I have only shot 115gr Syntech so far.

Not suppressed, nor planning on it.

Just want to ease the buffer / BCG slamming impulses a bit.  Shits and giggles, for the most part.

I splurged on the blitzkrieg for my budget 5.5" 9mm build.  I'm very happy with it.

Kaw Valley’s 7.5oz 9mm buffer and extra power 17-4 PCC buffer spring work great.

I use a Colt 9mm buffer in my 4.5". No issues.
I use a Taccom Buffer System in my 5.5" with a BFSlll. Works great!
