I saw another Brownells thread but did not want to hijack it

Looks like a decent deal for a Stripped Upper but was curious on who their manufacturer is for these?

Field reports also welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Anchor Harvey Aluminum = splintered A forge mark. Don't know who finished it though.

Brownells has manufacturing capabilities. They probably fislnished it themselves.

I'm going to be honest here. I have finished a build on a Brownells upper and was not impressed. To me it seemed just a notch above some Olympic uppers I have seen. Aero makes a significantly finer product. I'd put the Brownells upper I had on par with or just below DPMS or PSA.

Alot of their unmarked replacement parts are made by DSA.   They're pretty good about being transparent, though.  @brownells

What about the quality made you think it was sub-par?

The biggest problem I had with it was that the bolt carrier channel seemed tight. Likewise, the barrel fit wasn't the best and the finish seemed almost like a park job. I know that's mostly all subjective, but it was really the way the bolt carrier rode in that upper that drove me nuts. It never failed or anything, but it just wasnt as nice as a Colt or BCM or even an Aero. I can get danged near glass smooth actions from those, but the Brownells upper I had was just gritty and rough no matter what you did to it.

One of our vendors out of Minnesota currently machines the upper receivers.

Aero Precision machines the lower receiver under a Brownells variance.

@Brownells

I know this is off topic, but any word on when you will get the new silencerco switchback suppressor in stock?

That was a one time buy.  We doubt we'll get them that low again.
