When I asked Bore Buddy, this was their reply:
"For the HV, you'll want to start with stainless internal weights For standard, use the aluminum. CCI Quiet 22 rounds will not cycle an AR22 even without a weight. I'd suggest some of the 45gr suppressor rounds if you want cycling, and start with aluminum internal weights."
I have 2 AR22s built with RTB bolts and M4-profile 22rf barrels that are cut down to mimic 10.3" 5.56 barrels.
I shoot pretty much any SV 38-40gr rounds (mostly CCI ) and Aquila Sub-Sonic rounds with zero problems using the aluminum weights.
40 gr HV (CCI Mini-Mags, Thunderbolts, etc) works fine with the stainless or aluminum weights though it is smoother with the stainless weight.
As predicted by BB, CCI Quiet 22 will not work, even with no weight.
