I dont like panning, just swivel (side tilt) with an adjustable tension lock. Panned bipods can alter the way a gun recoils and how shots land. If the adjustment for a shot is small, not panning is no big deal. If it is large, you should be adjusting your whole body anyway and panning bipods are more difficult to get square each time for consistency.
Mostly this is a preference thing. Bipods are fior prone shooting the vast majority of the time. I have two Larue versions of the Harris due to the improved QD integration vs other add on throw levers and I like the low profile knob vs a long PodLoc lever. Definitely prefer Harris over Magpul and even over many Atlas (though I am in the minority) Specifically prefer Harris over Altas without PodLoc or the older rolling leg versions, but the new Atlas with PodLoc and cant only are great, they are just expensive.
