I have a 6920 upper with a Midwest Industries 2 piece free float MLOK hand guard that I'm trying to figure out the best light placement on.

I currently have an M600 attached to a FSB pic rail and it is pretty decent there...but I'd like an option where the light/ mount isn't a heat sink.

I ordered a Magpul offset scout mount and then realized that would end up putting the light about even with the edge of the FSB due to the MLOK slots on the HG.

Should I just leave it on the FSB pic rail? Or is there a better option out there?

What about a Thorntail?

I'll second this. Here's how I've ran mine on a carbine with FSP:

Clearance with it mounted to the top rail:

If you wanted to mount direct to the M-Lok, then Arisaka Defense or Arson Machine would be my go-to.

Thanks all! I wasn’t aware of this mount but I looked it up and the also have an MLOK one out now. I think I’ll give it a try.

Just a note - if you'll look, I can only push mine forwards when I have it mounted on top, and even then there's a slight bit of interference with the handguard cap up front. On the side with my rail (DD Omega 7.0) there was enough interference than would let it mount, so I had to have the end of the arm on the thorntail back from there. YMMV depending on your handguard and what cap you have up front. If you have a FF handguard, you could take a dremel to it no problem, I just never bothered to.

I hadn't thought of that...thanks! I'm looking at my handguard now and at the edge, it bumps out to mirror the profile of the handguard cap. So the MLOK version might have the same issue. I'll have to get it in and see what the clearance is.

I appreciate the info and pictures!

If you do run into clearance, just get a file and some cold blue and you'll be fine. Best of luck! Enjoy your lumens.

Have you tried a Unity Tactical FUSION Micro Hub with Lightwing?
