The other day I posted a thread asking about the best barrel for a F/A MK18 build. Now I need advice on recoil buffers.

I have very limited experience with SBR 5.56 rifles. I know carbine buffers come in standard, H - H4 or something.

Can anyone provide me with advice on which is best to use?

Thanks!

Full auto?

I don't know about that, but in semi, and if it is a DD barrel, and has the fat gas port like mine (.080") then a Sprinco Blue and H3 can be used, reliably.  If you are running suppressed, then I would install a Sprinco Red spring.

Yes it is full-auto and will use a Colt MK18 Mod 0 upper I think.

H2 with proper .070” Port.

I run mostly A2 stocks, but one of my MK18s is collapsible, and both H2 & H3 work 100%.

H2 or H3. I like H3 suppressed, if you cannot adjust the gas. Keeps the cyclic rate a little lower. Can be combined with extra strength action spring, but then it may choke unsuppressed when dirty and/or with weak loads.

I've got some CQBR uppers from Crane that are eroded so bad, a H3 doesn't cure them (unsuppressed). When the port gets that eroded, it's done.
