I picked this up in a parts lot. It looks like the attachment style for an M16 bayonet. Does anyone recognize it?

Looks like the pommel on a bayonet. It isn't a piece for a rifle but actually the end of a bayonet if I am looking at it correctly OP.

It is from a M9 bayonet. There was a EOD conversion package that included a plain round butt, different grip, and guard. Someone probably let the bayonet attachment end go.
