A local guy is selling one. It's seen a good amount of use. I think the gen 2 came out in 2010-2012 so this would pre-date that? but I'm not sure. I wouldn't be surprised if it had 10k rounds through it. There's some ware. it's not a safe queen. He's asking 1,400 and I think that's a bit high. I can't find much about these. Looks like a heavy gun. I'm concerned about getting this and then finding out I need a new BCG or the barrel is shot and needs replacing and I can't get parts for it. etc.

anyone have some general advice or thoughts on it?  Appreciate the help.

That's too high for a heavily fired rifle. Call Barrett and speak to someone and see if they still have barrels for that barrel available.
Whatever the cost of the barrel, distract that amount from what he is asking.

Agree too high for that round count and for a rifle that, for me, I have not heard or read a lot about....look on the EE, I saw a LMT not long ago listed for about that same price.
