FWIW... I Loctite in my barrels and lap the uppers face. I have also fired many, many rounds in an afternoon.
I don't get the barrel crazy hot, but it is certainly hot.
I don't ever mag dump routinely, but I also feel it is important to test for precision at rather brisk speeds. Looking for any accuracy issues at a brisk pace.... heat included.
I tend to ( at the bench ) fire, get back on target, fire, get back on target, fire, get back on target...etc for 10 rds. Observe the group, load another 10rds and give it another 10. Shooting sessions are 20mins at my local range, with a 10min fetch your target / setup your target time.
I rarely allow for much cool down during these test periods.
That said, I haven't noticed any long term accuracy degradation ( Loctite wise ) from the heating generated. I am sure it accelerates the barrel wear... but, again, It is important for me to know what I can expect from my barrel / AR.
I hope that helps a little.
I wouldn't worry one bit about an occasional mag dump.
FWIW, I still Loctite and Lap every upper I assemble... after many, many "builds".
