I need a backpack to fit a 10.5 pistol with a law folder. I am not looking for anything "tactical" or something that looks like a gun could be in it. What's some decent option besides just going to Wally world with a tape measure to make sure it would fit? Ideally it would have some kind of tie downs in it to keep the pistol in one place. I don't mind paying for quality. I figured somebody here would have good place to start looking. What say the hive?

My 10.5 with law folder just fits inside my Vertx Gambut plus. It is not a tactical looking pack, but has some pretty cool features. I think there is a youtube video of the Gambut. I think its the same just a little smaller.Attachment Attached File

Even has a pouch for armor.

Eta That pistol has a Kak flash can and a SOB brace.

I used an Oakley Kitchen Sink for awhile.  My setup was with a 10.5” barrel, Vltor A5 Pistol Buffer tube,  Surefire Warcomp and the Law Folder.  So  my 10.5 was a little longer than most when folded.  It fit just right and with the top cover on the bag you could never tell what was in it.  Even had room to fit a 11x15 IIIA soft panel.

I’ve looked at the grey ghost pack and while I like the concept I believe I would rather have a regular looking pack. This will be in the back seat of my truck several times a week and I want something that will not stand out to much.

Exactly - just get a Jansport or similar type cheap book bag. Add padding as you like and or IIIA soft armor to the back.

Well I have looked everywhere for a bag that will fit my 10.5 pistol. Apparently no one in north Alabama sells a damn pack that is 22 inches long. Wally World, academy sports, mountain high outfitters and cabellas all turned up nothing. Guess I’ll be ordering a vertx.

I have the 5.11 tactical slingpack and carry a 7.5 w/ KAK shockwave blade.  I am considering adding a law folder and changing  to a 10.5 upper. I'm pretty sure that it should fit into the same bag. Recently 5.11 had the bag on clearance for $45. Bag makes you look average not tactical.

If you don't have an extra long muzzle device on your pistol, it should just fit in this backpack. I put an 11.5" upper, with a 2-3/8" muzzle brake, attached to a lower without a receiver extension (just a pistol grip) in my bag and it just fit. But because the top of the pack rounds out at the top, it had to go in muzzle up to fit, if that makes a difference to you.

Also, the main compartment is padded and lockable. It even comes with a small 3 combo lock.

Ok, I completely forgot that I have a 10.5" upper in 7.62x39. I really need to take my stuff out more often.

I tried it in the bag with the same lower set up and muzzle device as I listed in my last post and it fit perfectly muzzle down. There was about 3" between the end of the receiver and the top of the pack which should be enough to accommodate the Law Tactical adapter. Plus, something like a 5.11 Ammo Mule should fit in the front of the padded divider easily.
