I’m trying to decide which rail I want to put on my primary rifle, for those that have experience with both, what are your thoughts?

Cost and bendiness aren’t factors in my decision.

If you don’t care about price or quality, then what are the factors in your decision?  Strictly aesthetics?

I had this same question 3 weeks ago. I got both. The MK16 is in my closet because it is heavy. The MCMR in on my rifle. If you can not find a MK16, the LAT from Larue is a great alternative.

I have MCMRs on my most of my rifles.  The agency I work for is getting all new BCM uppers with the MCMRs as well, no complaints from the field that I've heard.  They do the job well enough.

I do care about quality, I just know that MK16 discussions invariably turn to “bendy boi” comments, and I’m not concerned with that aspect.

Other factors that are a consideration are ergonomics, and heat dissipation. I’m also looking for any general complaints that people may have.

Weight is my biggest concern with the MK16, if it was a bit lighter I would just get one of those for sure.

Be careful with the MK16. I can not let it go. I’m honestly planning an entire build around that handguard instead of selling it.
Also, I cerakoted the BCM logo on the MCMR. No star logos for me. Cost me 65 extra $ to spay and install MCMR.

The MK16 is easier to install but is blocky and crude.  Looks like a dipshit designed the barrel nut interface.

The MCMR is a little more difficult to install, but the way it clamps to the barrel nut is a lot more refined.

MK16. They are not bending down range.

I would say the biggest difference is weight and lengths that they are available in other than cost and bendiness.

15.0" MK16 15.8oz
13.5" MK16 14.8oz
10.5" MK16 12.5oz
9.3" MK16 11.8oz

15.0" MCMR 11.5oz
13.4" MCMR 10.5oz
10.5" MCMR 8.9oz
8.1" MCMR 7.6oz
7.4" MCMR 7.1oz

Thanks for the comparison @pezboytate!
I have 1@ 13 inch.  The MK16 is so much better, cause.....well USASOC issued it.  Function? The MCMR is sleek, minimalist and functional.  I like them both, then again I like my UTG PRO SS so much I have one 13 and one 10.5.  Buy both!

BCM

I dont like to over pay for something straight forward like a rail.
Its light, sturdy and has a good attachment system at a fair price.

Nothing wrong with a G rail, but I dont need the weight and the price is too much for me and what I want/need.

I prefer the Geissele for it's barrel nut and barrel nut wrench design, which makes it easier to tighten/loosen the barrel nut without marring it making it a lot less likely to have to hammer the rail on/off the barrel nut.https://www.ar15.com/forums/AR-15/BCM-KMR-Barrel-Nut-Installation-Questions/4-760369/ I know it's not much but I also like that the Geissele's anti-rotation screws provide a more positive lock up than the BCM's anti-rotation insert.

That said the BCM is lighter and has a smoother transition from the rail to the lower receiver.

The Geissele MK14's are a little bit lighter than the MK16's (and cheaper) if weight is more important than having M-Lok slots on 7 sides but they're still not as light as the BCM's.
15.0" MK14 13oz
13.5" MK14 11.5oz
9.5" MK14 9.6oz
