Interested in this 34mm optic. Is there anyone out there that has received one yet? Thoughts? (Very interested in this low price optic)

I got an email Saturday pushing the ship date back to 9/8 for pre-orders with order dates up to and including 7/18. They also sent a code for a free RiZero muzzle brake to make up for the delay but it serves me no purpose as I use suppressor mounts. I may redeem and sell it.

Just fyi, this is the response I got today after they didn’t ship by 9/8
They are still in route to our facility. As soon as they arrive, we will begin shipping. Be on the lookout for the shipping notifications. View Quote I hope they’re doing QC before they ship. |

![]() Best Budget LPVO? Arken EP8 1-8x28 FFP 34mm with KILL-BOX Reticle FIRST REACTION ~ Rex Reviews From just what he’s showing it doesn’t look too bad. Illumination looks really good for a FFP that doesn’t cost $2000. The EOTech style 1X circle is a good work around but it looks like it might be a little big. |

I look forward to real world reviews of the Arken LPVO.
I have a couple of the Arken SH-4 Gen 2 scopes and they are good for the price. Arken recently released the SH-4J 6-24 with Japanese glass so I purchased one. I can sy that there is a big difference between the two. The SH-4 has distortion around the edges at 16X and above while the SH-4J is clear on all magnification levels. |

Well, every two weeks I’m told “next week” when I ask about shipping ETA for the 1-8x.
I guess it will get here when it gets here. |

Someone started a which go to lpvo thread in GD. A poster casually mentioned their friend having the arken and liking it. I was like wait…more please…but the moment has passed.

Looks very similar to a reticle Crimson Trace tried out years back

Looks like the EOtech Vudu reticle at 1X and an alien reticle at 8X

We are soon bringing out a 1-8 optic mil/mil/meters with a ranging bdc reticle that I believe does this better. I look at the bracket reticle in the context of the video in the thread here (no greater understanding), and it seems a little under-featured for what this could be doing.
I designed the reticle for ours, and it tested out nicely. It can support 12.5-18” 5.56 with m193, m855 and mk262, 14.5-16” 308 with m80 and m118lr, and 14.5 and 16” 6.5 creedmore with 140 and 147 hornady loads, to 6-700 meters by matching a load and specific elevation offset 100meter zero. The reticle was based on 1000ft elevation, but obviously people at differing elevations could use jbm ballistics to figure out a zero. Our reticle can range whitetail deer, human shoulder width, human head height, and we provide wind holds for two wind conditions and offsets for side prone behind a barricade 150&300meters. The wind holds offer different full value wind speed support based on the bc of the rounds so 3-6mph in m193, 4-8 in m855 and m80, 5-10 in m118, all the way up to 8.5 and 17 in 6.5 with the 147 grain load. |

It only took 13 1/2 weeks to arrive but mine finally showed up.
The good - the glass is really good; it's lighter than a PST II, shorter than a P4Xi, I really like the form factor; illumination is surprisingly good; the turrets are actually pretty good, I figured for the price point the turrets were going to be where they cut corners but I like the turrets better than my PST II The bad - there is no 'off' position in between the illumination settings (seriously, how is this even a thing?) so if you want to go from setting 9 (the brightest) to off, it's ~340° turn of the knob; I've only played around with it around the house but I can't get the diopter set up right, if I set the diopter at 1x, it's off at 8x and vice versa. I'll have to play around with the diopter more once I get to the range. For the price it's pretty hard to beat (I paid $318 shipped). But....getting strung along for 3 months when it was a 4 week lead time at the time of order was frustrating. They currently show a 6 week lead time but I wouldn't put much faith in that. |

So…the reticle. I’ve read the manual about the calculations for the KLBOX and can’t wrap my head around the voodoo math. I wish Strelok updates were a thing. Or if I could get the subtensions of the drops I could figure it out on my own. I do like the brackets for ranging targets but I feel like I’m missing something. In my defense, the manual isn’t super clear.
