Are there any adapters to run any .45 mag in a regular 5.56 lower? I know our cup runneth over with 9mm options, but I like 45. A 45 endomag would be cool.

There's also the out of production Olympic Arms system.  .45 ACP upper with proprietary mags of a couple different types were used over the years.

ETA: The Olympic Arms system has the ejector incorporated into the upper receiver.  The mags that were used in the last years of production are polymer bodies of the standard AR magwell size with an internal feed of the pistol caliber ammo (i.e., the Olympic Arms system was offered in 9mm, 10mm, and .45 ACP).  The polymer mags also have a LRBHO trip incorporated, similar to what was done on the so-called "Air Force AR .22LR conversion" mags.  Olympic Arms also sold a manual push type loader for their mags.

Macon Armory upper DI sets come with a drop-in mag adapter, fit right into my Anderson lower.
Definitely get the DI, it's one shooting SOB !
Swallows any 45acp I feed it.
I run a 2oz buffer.

Stern Defense at Getstern.com offers a mag insert that accepts M&P 45ACP magazines.
That is what I use with my blowback 45ACP barrels and it works flawlessly.

Zero complaints with Rudy's D.I. upper, semi or full auto. But, using my brother's RLL is just too awesome, so it really is used more as a host upper. Tons of fun...

Rudy will send you a really nice upper that has all the bugs worked out, and a nice conversion kit (mag/magwell adapter.) If you want plug and play, and support a really great guy, Macon Armory is where it's at.

Nice, but fifty bucks per magazine is rough.

Commercial 45acp JHP is rougher.

And they are a little cheaper in packs of 3.
I'm up to 8 now, about all that I care to carry (or load) at once.

Just enough to fill up a Galati mag pouch

Rudy's DI upper on a CNCGUN's lower. Takes grease gun mags and is flawless.

I never tried them, but olympic arms used to make 17 round 45acp mags.

of course then you need an upper..,

I bit the bullet and went with the CMMG.  It's pretty slick.

I used the Stern Defense mag adapter which takes the S&W M&P 45ACP magazines.
It has worked flawlessly for me installed in an Anderson lower.

The adapters won't fit in the Aero Precision ME41 lower just as a heads up.
The adapters work great in any Mil-Spec lower and work fine in the Anderson lower with the closed trigger guard.
