Several things i dont like about the c1 is the lack of reinforcement on the interior wall of the assembly. Without the foam insert, it is also noisy. Components rattle inside loudly. The interior is very large and can carry much more than the A2.

The included rubber buttplate is also chinchy and should be replaced by an A2 trapdoor assembly.

I have sprayed bedliner on the interior to reduce the noise.

Now with brownells producing their own A1 style stock I would like to see how it stacks up vis a vis.

Running the A2 build for the first time really helped me get over selling the A3 upper.

She's a keeper for sure.

I just took some 550 cord and looped the ridiculous drill field sling to the FSP so it's actually use-able for something besides shoulder carry.  I also threw on one of those buttstock mag pouches from back in the day...it's primary benefit is the nice sling loop it provides at the heel of the A2 stock.

Edit: and of course all mags now have Magpul followers...I'm pretty sure I threw out every black and green follower years ago.

I still keep the nylon sling on the rifle but its also fun to re-rig the rifle with what you got.

I just got back from the range after re-sighting my rifle since I last took off the barrel to attempt the BCM rail.

I gave it two zeros thanks to the drum and windage wheel. Green nail polish was used to mark a 50 yard zero for m855 and a white paint pen was used to mark M193 with a 50 yard zero.

For now I cant see any changes except a new mini ACOG and Spring Co green spring.

Blackhawk same plane rear reversed for glint free aperture.

XS Sights Tritum Front

Marked drum for multiple loads. 50 yard zero for 855 compared to 193 in white.

I once put a carbine stock and Omega rail on my 20" upper. I put a aimpoint micro and light on the rail. I also put the xs front stripe sight on it.

It's back to A2 clone status except for the C1 stock.

I filled the C1 she'll with great stuff foam and cut out a spot for spare parts and use an A2 buttplate.

It's my favorite shooter.

You just made me interested in a C1 stock; this one is the one I found, good to go?

Solo, get yourself a spare A2 butt plate. The rubber CAV C1 is lame IMHO.

Yup.

The C1 sling attachment sucks too. Go with the A2.

Lets go old school! 2018 build with Capco upper, Toolcraft BCG, NiB trigger group, stainless pins and springs, Magpul grip.

But we have been there before. Lets boldly go where no A2 has gone before!

I am considering a new rifle. It will be an A4 type using a period KAC hanguard with a Ace skeleton stock and magpul grip.
My other idea is a 16" mid length with Troy hand guard with an A2 upper. Not sure about the stock yet. Ace or A1.
Both rifles will feature light profile barrels.
