They’re great quality, but Colt magazines are literally the same mags as Okay, just with a different name stamped on them. Okay makes them for Colt and has been doing so for decades. I would never pay more than $10 for a brand new Colt mag in the plastic wrapper, because that’s how much brand new Okays can be found for. My preference is to find lightly used, surplus Colt and Okay mags for $5-7. Just bought three used Okays for $5 each and an almost-new Colt for $7 at a show this past weekend.
People talk about paying for a name when buying certain brands of rifles, but if you pay more for a Colt mag than for an Okay, you are literally paying for a name. Edit: Crazy typo, I accidentally said that I wouldn’t pay more than $20 for a new Colt mag. That was supposed to say $10. Corrected. |

It's not a bad price for Colt USGI 30 round mags, but not a great price either.

If you disassemble a Colt stamped magazine on the inside you will also find Okay markings. Also they have the same U.S. Military Cage Code....33710. |

Good mag, but I buy OKAY at half the price and get the same magazine without a horse on it.

FWIW, these have the tan follower. I didn't realize there are Colt-marked mags with the tan follower; thought only Okay, Brownells and Center USGI* mags have that. Interesting.
(Using "USGI" here in the literal sense, as in mags made specifically for US military issue.) |
