I've seen this company's products for sale on various websites. They seem to be a budget/entry level brand. For anyone that owns one, how's their overall QC/accuracy/durability?

I own one of the lowers on a 10.5" pistol build.  No problems for five years now.

Its a lower. Its in spec. Its cheap and works.

Have a few, no issues. Prefer integrated trigger guard versions.

I have never had any issues with any Anderson product I have used.

It is a piece of forged 7075-T6 aluminum, as long as they machined all the dimension correct, and applied the anodizing the correct thickness, it will last just as long as any other piece of anodized forged aluminum.

People seem to forget that the extra cost of "premium" stuff is not necessarily better reliability, or longer endurance, but a lower chance of it being made wrong.  If the stuff is a) made from the right materials, b) made to the right dimensions, and c) finish treated properly, it will last just as long and work just as well as anything else out there.

Which products specifically?
Therein lies the rub.

They are also getting into the polymer handgun game.

I have built out several Anderson lowers.  They are the same as any other lower I have used.  No issues.

The worst thing about having an Anderson is the gun snobs referring to it as a "poverty pony".  But I'm a big boy and can take the ridicule.

I have a few on budget builds as do a few friends of mine. I've only bought stripped lowers from them, same with most of my buddies, but they've all functioned just fine. I do know of one guy with a couple complete rifles (very basic m4gery types) and he's had no issues to speak of, though I dont believe he has run many rounds through them. I do know the popular rumor is they do products for a number of other manufacturers, and a former coworker once ran the anodizing shop that did their stuff and confirmed as much, though Ive not heard what other brands specifically and he wasn't a gun guy so didn't know.

Sample size of one stripped lower: the ease of assembly was the same as any other lower- PSA, Aero, Del Ton, BCM, etc... One M3 PMag is tight; the other 25+ M2 and M3 PMags, and couple dozen aluminum mags drop free just fine. All lock in without issue. The price was right, and the local store had one on-hand so I could complete that build that night.

I had a few where the pistol grip screw hole wasn't tapped deep enough but other than that they worked fine.

Entry level/budget guns as stated, yes.  Many review videos online.

No personal experience with their complete guns.

I have used well over 100 both finished and 80's. I have encountered a few little issues but nothing I have not seen in various other brands. For what they are selling them for it is not worth my time to machine my own. The main issue I have with them is that Anderson destroyed the lower receiver market with what they are selling them for. Back in1999 when I first started machining receivers, average price then was $140-$160. Stag was one of the bigger suppliers then.  I have 300 forgings just sitting there plus a considerable amount of billet . Just paper weight right now but you never know what might happen is this up side down world. I am not going to get caught flat footed like I did after Sandy Hook.

I think Aero and Anderson are pretty good lowers for the price.

Back when I was building ARs like crazy, I do recall Anderson lowers tend have really easy to install front pivot pin. In other lowers, the spring tension is hard and I usually have a missing pivot pin pop out but with Anderson lowers, I can just pop it in no problem. Not sure if I gotten better or if the lower has a different spec as far as that pivot hole.

They are good to go. A positive note is they are US made. Some entry level/ budget AR's use imported parts with questionable quality. A side note my son purchased a lower parts kit off Amazon of all places made in China. $25 free shipping and the seller now only has backpacks. At least they are camo.

I've never used one of their lowers, but I have used their uppers when they offered true slick-side flattops. No problems.

My only reason for not using their lowers is I don't like the rollmarks.

Knowing what the Anderson logo engraving looks like from seeing other peoples lowers (not eye pleasing) I wasn't too excited by the thought of that when I went and ordered my set of 6 a couple of years ago. However, to my surprise my 6 lowers came with much better/crisper engraving than all the ones I had seen previously... So I really don't mind the logo on the ones I lucked out in getting.

I emailed Anderson about it and they said they still use the old engraving as well, so it's hit and miss on which engraving you might get. They updated their tooling back in 1015/2016, but they still use the old tooling alongside the new tooling.

That is part of the reason for filing in the logo on one of my Anderson lowers. I like having fun messing with people.

I have used quite a few Anderson and PSA lowers without any issues. The above photo is my 22lr precision setup with a CMMG 16" heavy barrel and CMMG bolt. And the upper receiver is an Anderson too.

Like others have said, as long as the lower is made to spec and finished properly then it really doesn't matter what name is on the side. Forgings are all machined on CNC machines which hold tight tolerances.

Now what makes a difference between lower priced brands and high priced brands is how their overall quality control is. One area is how often they inspect and replace their machine jigs and cutting tools. Another is how well trained the CNC operators are trained too,.

They are decent. They had some QC issues when they started during the Zero administration. I help couple of guys at work with their builds once I figured out some of the problems with the lowers.

Have no issues with the ponies lowers I built recently.

Just google search Anderson AR15 problems versus even something like Stag AR15 problems and you’ll see a significant contrast. The only AR I’ve ever had that couldn’t get through a full mag out of the box was an Anderson. There was so much wrong with it I sold it with full disclosure at a loss.

Anderson makes receivers for a ton of companies. It’s quite odd that they can do it so well for others but have issues specific to their guns at what seems to be a higher rate. 5 or so years ago the forums were littered with out of spec buffer retainer issues that were specific to Anderson for example. Based on ATF’s AMFER report, they make shit tons of fully finished lowers for other companies, so it’s evident they have good quality control capabilities if they want to.

If it works, it works though. But agree with the post above that money doesn’t buy performance as much as it buys quality control. I had bad experiences with them but won’t blame someone who keeps buying them that hasn’t.
