Question first comes down to if carrier is tight against the barrel extension face or not, hence bolt fully locked up, or bolt out of battery slightly, and if the Hammer coming down to strike the primer is what is closing the Bolt all the way/getting the carrier tight against the face of the barrel receiver in order for the FP to fully protrude afterwards, and this is why the primer is only being dented, but not set off. So before you pull the trigger on a few rounds, look at the Carrier to face of barrel extension to make sure there is not gap between them (bolt not fully locked home).


Now if carrier is tight against the face of the bolt extenion at charge/rife self cycling, then next check is the hammer spring.

Hence installed the correct way, and with the legs of the spring on the top of the trigger pin.




From here, pull the bolt out of the carrier, then with the FP jammed tight to the back of the bolt, verify that the FP protrusion out of the bolt face .028"~.032" on full protrusion using #3.

Hence measure from bolt lug face to bolt recess face, then measure the amount that the FP is protruding from the lug face, and subtract the two to get protrusion distance.

Now for X39 with imported ammo that has harder military  primers, no reason to go and buy another FP, since we can make the one you have work to achieve the .037" protrusion distance.  Just start with your first measurement of protrusion, subtract that from .037" and this is how much material was want to take off the face of the stop collar on the FP tip side.  So back of FP in a drill, spin the FP, and used a small jewelers file to face the needed amount of material off that side of the FP stop collar to achieve the .037" of the after market FP's.

Would need to know that FP protrusion distance on the unit you have, but extending a standard FP from .028~.032" to .037" does not cause the same problem.
