Does the 450BM benefit much from an adjustable gas block?  Will be a 20" Bushmaster barrel chopped to 16", carbine gas.

Bump for interest.

Obviously there are a lot more 450B barrel makers out there now than years ago when I got into 450B, but both the 16in and 20in barrels I have seen have carbine gas systems.  You shouldn't have an issue nor a need for an adjustable gas block. I have a 16in and have never had a problem with any load, although these days I mostly shoot Hornady 250FTX with great results.

What are you trying to "fix" ? Recoil ? Function ? Cyclic speed ?

Not fixing, building.  Figured if it was a thing I would put an AGB on when I put it together the first time.

Put one on my 16" and didn't need it.

Runs like a scalded dog

Related note: Is there a standard size the gas port in the barrel should be?  I have a Bear Creek (I know...I wanted in Cheap) 16" upper, and it won't cycle factory loads.  It cycles my (slightly too hot) H110 Handloads okay.  I opened it up and measured it, and it was 0.66.  I'm debating if I need to get the Dremel out, or just continue tweaking my handloads to cycle it with a lighter charge.

it was 0.66

Assuming you meant .066", it is small compared to my Bushmaster barrel.  It is closer to .090"

I put one on my first 450 build. It was nice to choke down while bench shooting to keep the brass in the same county. There wasn’t much adjustment between cycle and no cycle with factory ammo. When it came time for hunting 2 more clicks open (insurance for cold weather) from the barely good point put me at only 1 click from wide open. This was with an Odinwerks click adjustable gb.

So, really I’d say no. Unless you are playing with subsonic loads no real need.

Yes, I did.  And thanks!  I have some drilling to do on my Scorpion, so I'll take the 450 upper along when I visit my friend with the proper equipment.

Not 450 BM but on my 10.5" 458 SOCOM I use an adjustable gas block to set the baseline gas and a Bootleg adjustable carrier to switch between the four modes of subs or supers with and without suppressor.
Works great!
A customer followed my "should have" idea and used an Innovative Arms W.A.R. Upper for his 10.5" 458.
Both work VERY well.
