I wanted to build a what if/PDW shorty build.  It is an A1 upper off of equipment exchange. A 7.5 barrel, front sight post and a-1 flash hider, pistol grip.  I cut down a set of hand guards to fit. I am on the list for a retro n-1 style pistol brace that will make it on here when I receive it. I am going to remove the bayonet lug put on a flat slip ring and spray the barrel to match the pistol. I also have a M261 22 cal conversion kit I might throw in to do some cheap shooting.  What do you think?  It all started with 2 many left over parts in the tool box.

I like it.

I made a similar creation out of "extra parts" a few years ago.

I like the way you did the hand guard.  I did mine a little different.

Great fun to shoot.

Got it stamped too.

As long as you can get it tuned reliably, that's about as cool a PDW as can be had!

...And this is one more demonstration of how dangerous (and expensive) it is to have spare parts laying around.

Your pistols look great.  I like your hand guard as well.  I planed on doing the same sling set up you have.  I get it worked out I might go sbr with it myself.

@Veltro

I'm working on something similar to yours.  Only, this will be in 300 BO.  The barrel is currently a dummy for mock-up purposes.

I’ve managed to collect enough miscellaneous spare parts over the years that I’m building the ultimate in stupid guns, an AR in 5.56 with a 4 3/4” barrel. The barrel and gas tube I did have to order, but I thought that it would be amusing. I’m putting a muzzle brake on it as well that I had laying around.  Next to my suppressed AR in .300 Blackout with a suppressor it’ll be an entertaining addition.

I absolutely love retro-ish PDW builds.

I've since swapped out the surplus A1 grip for an Armalite grip with swivel but need to paint/dye the grip black as it's a rather unsettling shade of green right now.

Heh, my N-23 pistol build (awaiting FSB pinning, handguard chopping, some color modifications to the LPK and assembly) is an early one - got some repro 601 bits, slickside upper and lower in XM, and a lovely (filthy) mottled grip. Plus a bunch of well-worn Colt 20-rounders. Oh, and a repro duckbill.

Mocked up with no lower clockworkery and obviously no handguard, hung the field-expedient sling for fitment adjustment. Might have to just take a picture, as I want to show it off on another forum I'm on as well. (Some folks there will get all soggy and hard to light, I'm sure. :V )

Gotta remember to pick up naval jelly tonight on the way home...

Damn. I didn't even know how bad I wanted something exactly like that until just now. That thing is awesome with the OG CQB-type stock.... Details on the build?
