I know everyone likes the CPD mags my question is do you like the 30 or 28 round? Why the differance? also what mag is running the best? 20 rounder? 30? 28? I will also pick up a 10 for my daughter to use hunting. I have a barrel on the way and want to get some mags coming.

Thank you

I have the most time with the 30s, zero issues. I've got a couple 20s that I've shot a couple loads through with zero issue, same with 5 rounders. I've bought some 28s recently but haven't shot them yet. I think the 28s are supposed to fit in mag pouches more better.

Unimag gen 2 works great for me. I use it for 6.8 & 7.62X39.

In my x39 AR i use nothing but C products 20 rounders.  Mostly for packaging reasons. i feel like the 30 rounders are just too ungainly.

Same here.  I’ve switched to using only late generation C-Products 20 round x39 Mags, with a few 10 round mags for shooting off the bench testing handloads.  I tried The 30 round CP, and performance was fine but I felt the form factor was ungainly on the 30 round mag.

I use my 7.62x39 AR for occasional hunting and messing around on the range, so 20 round capacity is fine for my needs.

30 rounders for me.   Oh, and one 10 rounder that I'll convert to a 5 rounder should I ever go deer hunting.

From what I understand, the 28 rounders are sized to still fit in a GI mag pouch.

I've used the 30's because no extra / left over ammo.

The DuraMag / C Products 20 Rounders are my sweet spot.

Easy to shoot prone or bench.

Enough rounds for any Pig Punching Party.

They have run perfectly for me.

+1 for CPD 20 rounders, for me it’s a good compromise between capacity & table top shooting.

I wish CPD made 20 round 6.5 Grendel mags too.

I have 10s, 20s & 30s in every caliber I shoot and the 20s go to the range more than anything else.

$20 a mag, and feeds not just 7.62x39mm.

The two I have have worked great so far with 5.56, 6.8spc, and 762x39. Have never tried leaving them loaded after use since I paid the higher sale price for them.

Gen 2?

I've heard a lot of horror stories about Unimag. Was that the Gen 1s?

Would you use them if your life depended on them?

If my life depended on it I would not grab an off caliber AR. The price is not really any more than what some of the non standard caliber mags sell for that are good for only one caliber. Can't see a reason not to try one at the current price.

Gen 1s were oversized.  Gen 2s work fine.
