I have read the 7.62x39 variants FAQ..   The magazine info looks old or outdated.   I have looked up most of the listed ones, and I have read the reviews.  Some of them don't have vary good reviews.  AR-Stoner mags any good?  Who makes the best mags. at the moment?  I would like a 5 or 10 round mag for hunting, and a 20 or 30 round mag. for fun.  Also would like a repair manual for the AR's, and would like some ideas as to what would be the best to buy.   I need to get a few mags soon, I haven't shot it yet. Thank you guys.

AR-Stoner 7.62x39 mags are ASC.

CPD mags have a better reliability rep.

With thousands of rounds through 4 7.62x39 AR’s just go CPD. ASC and D&H either start out not working or end up that way. I’ve never had a magazine issue with CPD.

This. I got ASC mags originally and they were fucking garbage. I ended up feeding rounds individually w/o a mag because they wouldn't feed for shit. No probs at all with my C Products once I found some.

I have researched C Products Defense 7.62x39 mags very recently for my own build.

Watch Primary Arms for mags. Usually good sale price and reasonable shipping.
I bought my 10 and 30 round mags from PA.

AIM Surplus is ridiculous on shipping, but has pretty good pricing.

I ordered mags from Black Rifle Arms cause no one else had them at the time.
I also got the wolff springs here. They shipped quick and all was in order. The price was
$2.00 per mag higher than everyone else for the 20 rounders.

I've been buying 28rd CProducts mags. If I ever get out to shoot I will let you know how it goes.

Aim Surplus is overpriced and shipping is too high as usual.

Glad this topic was at the top.

Thinking about getting a 7.62x39 upper. I already have a 6.5G and E-Lander mags. Can I use those mags for the x39 or is there too much of a difference?

I think you can get 5-10x 7.62x39mm rounds into just about anything.  A better solution for you might be UniMags, particularly if you're going to have 3 different calibers.

Well I finally got my magazine for my new 7.62x39 build.  I went with the c products  magazine from cheaper than dirt   I loaded up the magazine with several different brands of ammo and it ran and shot great.   Thanks for your recommendations on c products.

Bought one from primary arms. Worst mag experience ever. Sent back for credit and got c products when back in stock.

Just FYI, my c products and my ar stoner 6.5 Grendel mags run the 7.62 without a hitch.

Gen 1 or Gen 2?  Gen 1s were too wide for most magwells.  Got a Gen 1, didn't fit, sent it back for refund.  When the Gen 2s came out, got one, runs fine in .223 & 7.62x39mm, then the ARFCOM inventor sent me two more.

CPD mags are reliable. ASC ok , but not as good as CPD. My  question is, why cant I find CPD 7.62x39 mags with 28rd. capacity? I have 6 of them and wish I had more, but cant anyone who has them in stock.
I emailed CPD couple of months ago but got no reply. Any input will be appreciated.
The 28 rd. mags fit in the Vietnam era mag pouches, of which I have many.

Finally got out and shot my 7.62x39 AR and really like it. Best $350 I've spent in a while.
CProducts mags functioned great one thing I have 2 28 rd mags and I could only get 25 rounds in each mag.
