Are you asking about velocity? I just came across some info about velocity and expansion thresholds for a bunch of ammo types out of barrels ranging from 10.5" - 16". Ill try to see if I can find it. I could be wrong, but I believe I saw GENERALLY that from 10.5" barrels the velocity dropped below 1800fps by 250-275 yards. Ill look for the actual info

he means a gel test. I'm not sure if there are any available tests of the tmk. Plenty of smk, but no tmk I can find. Generally with the 77gr the tmk penetrates the same or maybe a hair more, so assuming the jackets the the same it can be assumed that it MAY just barely make the 12" mark, although the performance will undoubtably be marginal

Sorry for the potato pics.
The 69gr bha tmk looks to get close to the 12" penetration mark out of my 12.5 Very short neck Gel testing is fun Top round is 69gr tmk Bottom is a 124 p+ gold dot. Both had similar penetration. The angle throws it off  Attached FileUPDATE*** these were actually fired into a 20" (not 16" block) meaning penetration was closer to 15" |
