What 6.8 SPC magazines are available right now that are considered reliable?

I only have one 5 round PRI magazine in my inventory at the moment.

Barretts are well regarded.

Barrett are the best, full 30 rounds, most expensive and wont fit most pouches because they are a bit longer.
PRI are really good, 25 rounds, fit pouches, spendier than USGI 5.56 mags.
C Products are OK, I've used them in addition to the others for 12 years with no problems, 25 rounds, fit pouches, reasonably priced.

But I think the Magpull ones only work on the LWRC 68 lower, which is longer than a regular AR lower.

I've had good luck with older C Products mags, from about 10 years ago when I bought them.  I know C Products had gone through some issues so I don't know what they are like now.

Barnet mags are good, as other's have said.

I have only used the Barrett 6.8 mags 30 rounds. They work just fine for me.

The Magpul 6.8 mags look cool, but you need a special upper/lower that can only accept these unique sized mags. So downside if you want to run the same 5.56 mag pouches...

No.

PRI makes the best 6.8 mag in my experience. No need to look further.

Now if we can just get them to make a Grendel mag.

Should be the same.  Grendel and 6.8 followers are the same.

They told me it works with a standard upper.

Double checked this, not sure the point of that lower if you have to buy a billet upper too

For the record, I'm planning on using my 6.8 for hunting.
So I'm mainly looking for 5 round mags that don't cost $40 to $50 each.

How reliable are the mags from ASC & C Products?
Any alternatives?
Or is Barrett & PRI the only good ones?

I've had good luck with ASC 6.8 mags. The 5 round mags have the same body as the 10s, blocked with a big chunk of spring wire. If you buy the 10 round mags, you can block them to 4 with a 5.56 Magpul follower installed upside down in the bottom. Should be easy to trim a bit for the 5th round if wanted.

I have a bunch of the old PSA mags that have always been good.  If you can find them jump on it.

I bought 20 of the PSA 6.8 mags when they had a Christmas blow out on them a few years ago. They work 100%.  I had bought 5 of them to try out before that.
I have a few PRI 25 Rd mags. Very good mags.
I bought 15 of the Barrett mags when they had the 1\2 price sale last year. I prefer them over any others.

To be able to use 6.8 mags that upper is horrible though, and 6.8 lwci uppers are $$

Unimag gen 2 works great for me. I use it for 6.8 & 7.62X39.  It's on sale, 20 bucks for each.

I only use PRI.  I have heard good things about the Barrett mags, but didn’t want the extra length.

PRI mags are expensive but they work.

I learned my lesson on 6.8 mags.  Buy once, cry once.

TROOTH. PRI Mags is good stuff. Cavity Back Bullets webstore usually has their full line of 6.8 mags in stock.

I like PRI the best.  I only use 20R mags because the 30R are too long for my uses.  They work for me in the 6.8 and all my various 6.8 cats so until someone makes a better mousetrap, PRI for me.

My old CP (original company) 6.8 mags are OK but occasionally don’t feed properly with some of the cats so I rarely use them for bench use and won’t hunt with them.
