I just built or bought these calibers in AR platform

The only thing I generally know is that Lake City brass is good for handloading.

I need to make 9mm and 300 BLK in subsonic

I need to do 223/556 for sub moa accuracy

What brands should I be buying to get good quality hulls?

Is there a list of what makers that use Lake City Brass?

Although Lake City 5.56 brass is very good, most on-line LC brass sales are unprocessed.  Meaning they have to be cleaned, deprimed, primer decrimped and resized.

Lake City unprocessed brass run about 11 to 13 cents each, plus shipping.

I've been buying Starline 223 or 5.56 for about 24 cents each (with free shipping) .  All the work is already done for you, you just prime and load.

Starline 300 blackout brass runs about 27 cents each (with free shipping). I've used that as well.

Rifle Calibers

I also don't worry much if the brass I want from them is is listed as backordered.  I usually get it in about 3 weeks after I place an order.

M&S brass has Lake City 5.56 right now on sale.
They are a good company I have done business with many times.

Why not make your own at the range?

I avoid all non-US makes of 9mm brass. Some are slightly different dimensionally and some foreign brands can have tight primer pockets. Just easier to eliminate them all.

I also avoid Winchester 9mm brass. I've found about 5% have primer pockets that are too loose for my taste. I have the luxury of being picky about 9mm brass so I stick with Federal and Blazer since they are super available.

I also recommend the reloading forum.

I should have stated that.  What I meant was what Ammo to buy to shoot and get LC brass.

Thanks, I brain farted and forgot to state that.

Thanks for pointing that out.  I'm actually looking for Ammo to shoot and yield good brass.  You gave me some pointers for sure.

I’ve been loading 9mm for years. I’ve found no real issues with any brass. Straight wall pistol cartridges are very forgiving and easy to reload. I use whatever I can get for that. In .223 I’ve found PMC and  PPU to be good brass to work with. Other .223 brands like Winchester and Remington are ok. I avoid most .556 brass. The primer pockets are sometimes crimped and almost always more difficult to work with.

Lake City brass is OK. It really needs to be sorted. Like by year and then cull the heavy and light cases. I use this mostly for ammo I load to be stored, used, and brass left behind kind of use.

Lapua brass makes case prep a thing of the past. The .233 Lapua brass is dimensionally almost identical to Lake City but it is stronger and lasts for more reloads vs Lake City and is more consistent unsorted than sorted Lake City brass.

For bullets... I would go Hornady 55 grain soft point for super cheap, Hornady VMAX for close range precision,  and Sierra Match King 77 grain for long range.

For primers, I use CCI BR4 or 41.

For powder, it depends on bullet weight.

For my best long range loads 8208 XBR but you won't find any in stock. Ramshot TAC is a great choice and more available and gives better velocity.

For 9mm I would suggest Berry's plated 9mm bullets. A great value with decent accuracy. The most accurate bullets in 9mm are Speer Gold Dots and  Hornady XTP bullets... both VERY expensive.

The most accurate bullets I have used for subsonic 300 BLK are the Sierra Match King, Hornady AMAX, and Hornady SubX.

Powder for 300 BLK subs, Accurate 1680 and Hodgdon H110.

Hope that gets you started.
