So many things work. Lighter grain polymer tip stuff works best, but I’ve killed them just fine with about whatever from heavy grain .223 to 7.62x39. I’d try not to overthink it, at the end of the day it’s just a small dog.

Idk what you have for glass on the creed, or where you are hunting,, but a 1-6 wouldn't cut it here. Ive killed them past 600, and 223 sucks at longer range too. Creed all day for me. Most of us inn my area use 22-250 or 243.

Not a terribly hard shot, but the wind was nonexistent that am too. That being said, I killed a lot of the damn things with a 60 grain vmax loaded hot out of an 18 inch ar15. Gets pretty tough past 300 though, especially when the wind is active |

I shoot all kinds of shit with M193 on the farm. It'll kill.
Long range (200 yrds or more) 55 V-max is deadly and accurate. |

You'd actually have to really go out of your way to get a 300 yard shot. Any half decent expanding bullet will work well if you put it in the right spot. 55 and 64 grain soft points are what I use but if you want the hides then use a light hollow point. Longest shot I've had the last 3 years was a tad over 200. |

If it is a push, then I would go with the VMax.
They won't go far after a hit with one from inside of 300 yards. They are not as large a target as some folks think especially if they are moving. |

Any of those rounds will do. If you can get a hkt on target. Those guys are quick. Amd smart. Usually never see them coming and gone before you get a chance

Another vote for use whatever you have or can find. At <200yds pretty much any centerfire will kill them with a hit to the vitals.
Since you have 100rds of vmax, I'd use those. Shoot a couple on paper to verify POI. I have really good luck with vmax bullets on paper. Yet to shoot anything with them though. I did catch a yote at about 10yds with my 350L a couple weeks ago. Absolutely tore her up, huge mess. 9mm in, half dollar out. Also sent another half dollar chunk of sternum out. Made it about 3 steps and keeled over. 165gr FTX. |

Daylight both are good.
During a hunt a few weeks ago though lost two night hunting with m855. They were hit good. But no blood trail and lost them along a river bank. |
