I'm planning for and collecting parts for my next build. This will be my first 6.5 Grendel. I'm going to use a Faxon 12" barrel, and probably an Odin Works BCG. I'll also probably use a Tubb flat wire spring, but any suggestions on buffer weights for the 12" barrel? I'll probably mostly use the Wolf steel case ammo, but also want to run some 120-130 grain stuff. Do I want an adjustable gas block? How about a 6.5 specific brake? What kind of 6.5 magazines?

Thanks

I run h2s in all my pistols and rifles.  Slr blocks on most stuff also.

I just finished up my first Grendel which is a 12" as well.  Odin barrel and their adjustable gas block.  With the gas block all the way open, a standard carbine buffer and M16 carrier, I had to go to a lighter weight recoil spring to get it to lock back on an empty mag with Wolf ammo.  Will probably be switching to a non adjustable gas block and a Bootleg adjustable carrier when the suppressor for this gun gets approved.

I wonder what the difference of the port size is between the Odin and Faxon barrels?

Any suggestions on magazines?

Im not sure.  I'll measure it when I get around to switching gas blocks.

E Landers have ran perfect for me.

I am looking hard at doing an upper in the 11-12 range for an sbr and would love to use the wolf ammo but I’ve been researching and it seems most match or 5R barrels don’t run it well. The AA seems to do so using a 1.7 twist. I’d love some opinions and feedback from you guys on accuracy of your barrels with wolf as a plinker in whatever barrel you are using.

I am in the same boat.

Got an SBRed lower already.

So far I have
---
Gemtech Dagger suppressor
Dust cover marked 6.5 grendel
Odinworks bolt
Failzero nickel boron bolt carrier
2 x E Lander 17 round mags

Saving for
---
11.5 precision arms 6.5 Grendel Criterion Barrel (Nitrided)
10 inch centurion arms C4 rail

Haven't made up my mind on gas block and upper yet.
Might go with innovative arms WAR upper or adjustable gas block and aero precision upper.
