Ordered a couple boxes to try. Interested to see how this 'light for caliber' load functions and groups in my DD5V3. Anyone else have any experience with this load?

I’m interested in this, keith Garcia one of the top 3gun guys runs 110gr Hornady in his POF gun. With a 308 and 45 he’s beating most guys running 223 and 9. I wanted to try running some 110gr or 125gr 308 loads. I know Hornady has lots recoil 110gr 308z not sure if it’ll cycle in a 308.

The hornady 110 Vmax load had a pretty good reputation. Bet it would be a pretty decent critter round.

If you have a 1-11.25 barrel, the 110gr Hornady is very accurate and effective. Slightly less accurate with the 1-10 barrels, and accuracy is reduced a bit further in the 1-9.73 bores. Recoil isn't really noticeable.

The 110g Barnes tsx is 0.7 moa in my Larue 18” at 3200 FPS. Shot my first hog with it two weeks ago and had a pass through from neck and out the rear opposite hip. DRT.
The bullet will lose velocity fast at longer range but for under 200 yds it’s now my got to ranch load. |

Hornady 110 gr TAP LE runs and is accurate in my 10.5 Gas AR, and both 12.5 and 14.5 piston guns.
Feeds and cycles perfectly thru MagPul 20, 25, and 50 rd mags. Main use is in 10.5 as HD. Any discussion of "recoil" in any 308 gun or bullet weight is, my apologies, a joke. |

Here's a 4 shot group at 100 out of my custom bolt gun. The things are stupid accurate.

As long as you’re realistic about what the bullet does and does not do, and use it accordingly, it’s fine.

I wasn't shooting my best today but as a datapoint at 100 yards it printed ~1 MOA for me. Felt a little snappier than my heavier loads.

Nothing wrong with that for an off the rack semi auto. Bet you cam tighten it up with a little development. They don't seem to care how much they jump, so I wouldn't waste a bunch of time experimenting with seating depth. I load 48 grains of 8208 and hit 3280 fps out of a 22 inch bartlein. |

Assuming one takes care in doing things correctly, how reliable are handloads in semi auto rifles? Components are easier and cheaper to aquire than factory rounds. Plus these days one must wonder about a different kind of "tracer" round. 110g .308 has always made great sense to me as an anti personnel round. For some reason it's also among the most costly .308.

I haven’t had any issues with hand loads in mine. I tend to stick to the 7.62 service rifle loads which are more conservative than 308 but haven’t had any issues with hotter rounds. I find the best accuracy at milder loads anyway and it gives better brass life. Edited to add I do full length resize in my semi to ensure reliability. |

Yeah they’ve marketed it as urban or reduced penetration for a while. I imagine it would be devastating.

I always wanted the 12.5 Noveske N6 and thought 110gr might be a decent round for the shorter barrel to pick up extra velocity that I would lose with a shorter barrel.
