Best for what?  It seems everyone has a specialty.  And best modern or best ever?

Modern:
Beretta - Shotguns
Kimber - 1911's
RRA - AR's
Kimber - Center fire rifles
Remington - Pump Shotguns

Ever:
Colt pistols - (pre-1st bankruptcy - and I'm thinking pythons and woodsmasters not 1911's)
Browning - Shotguns (superposed)
Winchester-Pump shotguns
Remington - Model 700's

I'm suprised Browning is not mentioned more often.  If it wasn't for him, where would we be?
He was the Thomas Edison of firearms.

I don't think Bushmaster rates to be rated as one of the top 3 manufacturers just because they make a good AR and have good customer service.

If the question was "top 3 AR makers" that would be easy, but that is not the question.

Companies like Colt, H&K, Springfield etc etc have long histories of making a wide array of quality, reliable and functional firearms. Not just one single type of rifle.

I know you guys like your Bushy ARs but that should not qualify Bushmaster as one of the top 3 manufacturers of firearms.
