My wife shows no interest in shooting, and probably leans anti-gun. On the other hand, she has no objection to me and our daughter going shooting or hunting. That seems like a fair compromise.

My wife trains hard at hand-to-hand and sticks. It's like me and shooting- both of us do it for sport.

I've had good results with my wife basically saying "let me get this straight. Are you saying that you want me unable to defend you properly? If that is the case, when trouble hits, I'm outta here, and you can deal with it"... :)

Is self-protection an inalienable, unalterable right? Or is it a right granted by government?

The last question is what dooms the gun-banners. Millions of citizens will not voluntarily give up the best means of self-protection available to them. Indeed, they consider it criminal to demand that they do so.

IIRC, you do not have a constitutional right to be protected by the police. If you call and they show up, then great. If they don't, then you're on your own. This went to the supreme court. So who can possibly argue that you should only pick up the phone and dial 911 if there is an imminent threat?

When my wife complained about my guns, I told her it's the guns or drugs...

Now she leaves me alone...

By all means buy your wifes/girlfriends a copy of Paxton Quigleys book "Armed & Female". The story of a converted liberal is worth its weigh in gold, it is well written and apeals to females, plus there are many good tips on self defense & security.

Tell her that you own your guns for her too, that you want her to learn how to use it, so that she is safer. The Ar15 is the ultimate equalizer- even a tiny women can anhiliate a Hells Angels gang during a home defense event with it!

Take that woman our shooting.

The best way to convert a liberal is to take them out shooting. Make sure they have eye and ear protection, and keep it to 100 rounds.

Keep the FBI silohuette targets at 7 yards.

That should be enough for them to want to do it again.

A .22LR revolver makes an excellent gift to a young woman; she will get a .38 Special for herself soon enough.
