Do any of these Dissies have an M4 or fluted barrel? I believe I'm just about to order an A1/M4-profile upper from BM. I'm mainly curious as to whether the M4-profile solves some of the muzzle-heaviness that folks find objectionable in the Dissy.
Are most of the above-pictured HBAR Dissies? -MV |

The SLR15 Commander has an M4 profile barrel. It does balance out the rifle quite well. My son actuallt thought the Commander was lighter than the M4 when he was checking them both out at the range one day. |

mine's actually skinny under the handguards since it was a govt profile 20" and cut down to 16" |
|
|
mine too. a very light set up when combined with a DD rail. |

Mine was an old HBAR barrel that was laying around and turned into a rifle , but lighter is better - I have an M4 profile on another dissy and it is noticeably lighter. Fluted is cool too IMO.

Mine does. It's an LMT complte 14.5" M4 upper with Larue low profile gas block and 12.0 FF rail. |

Nice. I like the furniture choices... A1 rocks! Phantom was a nice touch too. |

Love the lightweight barrel - rifle length gas system? |
|
|
Yes sir! I love it so much that I'm thinking of getting another upper just like it. |

|
Awesome dissy. What barrel length is that? |
|
|
Is there alot of wobble with your a2 sights?
Looks like there is a considerable gap. |
|
Nope, no wobble at all, its very tight
ETA Damn my pics suck, I wish I know how to take better pictures. |

Dissy's are FANFUCKINTASTIC. I love'em and have a stripped DPMS lower that will be one, one day. Is there anybody that makes a gov profile barrel or are they all HBARS?
Thanks and great looking Dissy's everyone. I can't belive I didn't build one yet. |

You either have to reprofile an HBAR (Bushmaster) or chop a 20" gov't profile barrel to get what you want. |

Just a little off topic, but how come no one (like model1, del-ton and dpms) makes/sells disipator barrels chambered in 6.8spc? It would seem to me that this would be a great setup for the 6.8. From what i have read on this forum, and others is that the 6.8 has decent balistics out of a 16" barrel. Well why not combine this with the longer sight radius of a dissipator?
Sorry if i'm too off topic. m o r t |

Id like to build one, but have a question about the uppers. Are most of you guys building your own complete upper, or buying a built upper? Curious becuase I hear some of these are 20" cut down and whatnot. If you are buying the complete upper, where are you getting it from? thanks
|
|
If you are asking where to get a complete Dissapator 16" upper, Bushmaster and DPMS sell them. |

The longer sight radius is nice, but what I really appreciate is the extra real estate on the front handguards. One, this prevents a lot of burns when the barrel is hot, and two, you've got a lot more flexibility in terms of where you can place accessories (e.g. if you run a light, you can also slap a rail mounted bipod on without moving stuff around, then take it off when you don't need it). Combined with the handiness of a 16" barrel, the Dissy configuration is my favorite way to run an AR. |

Close, but technically not gov't profile. I had one of those and a chopped 20". While not quite night and day difference, the differenc was obvious. |

Also CMMG's M10C, M, and R uppers, medium contour barrels I believe. |
