My bolt guns are scoped and don't want to use those on my AR's. I'm seriously thinking of putting an EOTech on my upcoming SPR'ish upper. Don't really know if that's going to be just fine (for longer shots mainly). Any input is appreciated.

[OffTopic]I've shot my 14.5" carbine w/Eotech out to 200 yards and the results were respectable. I'd rather have an ACOG for that distance but in a pinch you can make it work for you[/OffTopic] |

Heres my first LaRue style SPR, which is on its way out to CA.
The optics are mine, but for around $1K, Its a heck of a shooter. I was testing it in the rain, so I kept throwing shots (5 shot groups), but I did get 1 REALLY good group.   WOA Barrel WOA upper receiver WOA Bolt and carrier PRI GasBuster SPR Gas Block Adco SPR style brake |

Like Mav656 I'm trying to justify replacing my YHM forearm on my JTAC SPR (ours are identical), but then again I just bought the Larue scope mount from C4, which is a billion times better than my ARMS 22 scope rings (which I thought sucked for the money). The problem with Varmint barrels is that the barrel is to big for the barrel nut to fit over. I put a PRI GEN III FF tube on my RRA varmint upper. I had to lightly sand the barrel nut with a dremel tool. It can be done, but takes some time...... C4 |

Are you talking about those large stainless barrels or the black fluted ones (like mine) that come with the "standard" Bushy Varminter? Or both? I wouldn't have thought that my barrel was any different that most other barrels for AR's, other than length (24"). Even so, I wouldn't mind a little Dremel work, because that 12.0 just looks great. I guess I could measure it with some calipers and check back with you on the dimensions of the barrel nut. Thanks. |

Standard Varmint barrels are of the .920 diameter flavor. If you have something like an HBAR then you are good to go..
