Wow..great thread. Should be a sticky so it doesnt get lost! Or a bump |

Some great pics! Slings would go a long way in making life easier for those guys humping those rifles.

Quoted: That guy sucks yeah, could that mag change have been any slower? then forget to hit the bolt release. Also that was undisciplined fire. No way he was actually aiming at targets, more like just emptying mags. |

Found it here Link to collection of articles / press hosted at LMT site Had missed the Combat Survival piece until now. |

Thanks for keeping this thread going! It is holding me over until my MWS arrives.

Thanks OP!
OMG - stainless/chromed BCG!! I am surprised the guys carrying those were not killed instantly by carrying a "shiny" BCG in a combat area. I suppose one could simply close the dust cover - which most of the soldiers pictured seem to have learned to do. Funny how many arfcomers still cling to the idea that a chromed carrier = "not tactical." |

First example I have seen of a British MWS in the field with something other than an Acog. Can anyone identify that blurry scope? British soldiers from 5th Battalion The Rifles surveil the area ahead from a sheltered position http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/7928/jmoccct20120100999a.jpg The British do not seem to like varaible power scopes. They are using Acog 648 with mrd for there Lmt and they choose the Elcan 4X over the Elcan Spector 1-4? |

thanks for posting all of these.....
the only troops I love almost as much as our own are the brits.... God's speed and thank you to all in uniform |
|
I wonder how the LR20 mags are holding up in combat? Should silence all the haters who feel you need to spend at least $80 to have a decent SR25 pattern mag. I never have had a problem with mine - 5.56 or 7.62, Magpul is GTG.
ETA - those ACOGS are freaking huge! |

is there a reason the trijicon issued on the mws is so freakin big?

Gotta be a dupe; none of those have a FA on them.........................................................
Sorry- had to. Those are beautiful rifles, and I am happy that a US MFG got the opportunity to support our allies. |

I wonder why he has both BUIS on backwards? Didn't notice... good catch. I put a front flip up on backwards to give my thumb more room to wrap around (on a mid length rail). But not sure why he would bother and have no idea why the rear would be on backward. |

Many of you may find this ironic. But the Brit BullPup that many of you are calling pieces of %^&$ is in fact Eugene Stoner Armalite designed, I believe a cheaper version of the M16 using stamped steel. It was turned into a Bull-pup for the Brit's. It consistently performs the M4 in accuracy and reliability in direct competition. I personally hate bull-pups. Over all. In today's world the Israeli Trevor is the best out there. My source is the military channel. lol

I have reservations about the accuracy claim as well, if compared to a Block II M4A1. The SA80 is also nearing end of life. |

This is a great thread....I work with some Brits that were in the services there, they are great to work with and talk to....the more I see that 6X ACOG, the more I am thinking about getting it for my MWS

Great pics!
On a side note, what has been the feeling on these rifles from the brits? |
|
From what I`ve read in British magazines, the troops love them.

The L129A1 can be seen in action in some episodes of the series Royal Marines Mission Afghanistan.
One example is 33:00-38:00 in Episode 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myAZNYapqPU |
