Lets keep that one on the "down low". |

To me, the AR15 is second to none, had to have it.
So far, I havent been dissapointed. TG |

Seriously, are you denying you don't hear a voice in your head say, "DAMN, I need one of those!" when you see something you like whether it be an AR, car, womenz or whatever else strikes your fancy? It's the same voice that tells us right and wrong, it's also known as our conscience. I truly believe all men of good conscience should own and be trained in the use of firearms that can be used for war. |

Now you sound sane...I guess I have my own voices, right now I'm hearing "GET OFF THAT COMPUTER!"...Nope..I'm sorry that was my wife. |

Cue background music "America the Beautiful"..........or feel free to hum a few lines........here
Oh, and did I mention the fact that there is an awesome website where we can all hang together and brag - help each other out with issues about our AR's. |
I told myself I would get one if the ban sunsets. I have two, about to order a stripped lower.
I own "AN" AR because my other eight would be lonely without it
I own my AR because I had thousands of dollars laying around doing nothing. I also had all this free time to invest in browsing this forum for excellent knowledge on how to spend all my money that just takes up space.
If I cant get it I'm voting for it! GO BUSH!!! |

It's a pleasure to have a vistor from the "Billionaires for Bush" Foundation. |

I wanted a rifle like the one I served with.
I needed something to accessorize the bayonet I already owned. Take your pick. ~Craig |

1, Weight, accuracy, handling, rate of fire, short range effectiveness with reduced secondary target concerns, and flexibility of utility. 2, Was Trained on the M16A2 in the Corps, didn't care for it much at first, but the thing grew on me. Even if it isn't an M14 or FAL, the AR/M16 is a better tool for some jobs. 3, Wear one on the "Job" now, and keep sharp with those privately owned and make up for the training budget shortcomings(Most of us do) in my own time. It's my life, and those we protect, and I refuse to allow some bean counting budget monkey, to undermine either. 4, My personal interpretation of the United states code, AND article two of our Constitution requires both by law and by public obligation that all of us "farmers and peons", keep well regulated with the current arm of the times ,in support of the standing Army, and if necessary, in opposition of. 5, the things are literally an erector set with a trigger, and are more fun then Leggos to be creative with! 6, Woodchucks, Crows, Coyotes, Feral Dogs, and keeping the 2 legged Wolves off of the porch. 7, Too much FUN! 8, Ammo is cheap and available in bulk. 9, No recoil! 10, It's a tool. I cannot find a way to love the things, so they get USED and used hard. 11, Because I CAN! ( Credit goes to SAM! Damn I miss that Guy!) 12, It keeps the rabbits honest in the Garden! |
Because its in the prefered caliber of most of the world.
that above mentioned ammo is lighter and you can pack a lot more of it. The accuracy is on par with its siblings(other .223's) and better than its evil cousin(AK's). It is light and designed so everyone is comfortable with it . All my Girlfriends love to shoot it. It looks really cool . So girls like them . Its probably the best dollar value in .223 Service rifles in use. Our military and most of the Federal, State and Local LE use them. I know I missed something . |
Beause I always wanted one'and damn now I want another...............an another .........an Well you know..............
BECAUSE: I use them at work. I love them. I want them. I need them. I cant live without them. I've been told by my wife, "You care more about those AR's than me!" I dream about them. I sleep with one under my pillow. I match my clothes to them. I take them for long walks on the range. I love to feed them. I love to clean them. The don't crap on the carpet. There are so many more reasons but I can not put them into words to describe my true feelings for these beautiful works of art. I love them all. Colt(Blonde), Bushmaster(Brunette), Rock River(Redhead).

Because I don't already have enough guns
Because I don't have enough tools yet. |
All the above. Plus it gives anti-gun activist a masive coronary when I do. |
Because back in '93 a buddy of mine went down to Arkansas and attended a archery conference and got some input from the folks about Gov. Clinton......
Never had a burning desire to mess with 'em again, til they elected that same Gov. as President. Bought mine the day after the election. Knew they were gonna tell me I couldn't have one, so obviously had to get one. Got the system I understood best and I knew I could keep running for a long, long time to be a pain in their asses. |
One of the best reasons to own one became evident only after I bought mine. When I show it to a Pro-Gun friend for the first time, there's always a big smile on their face when it comes out of the safe. But the biggest kick comes when I show it to someone who doesn't know much about guns, or is even Anti-Gun. You can see the fear on their faces when they see an AR-15 for the first time. Strangely enough, even the Anti types still want to touch it! Go figure. |
First time I held one, I was inamered (sp) with the sound of breech closeing.
they are simply a great rifle...
plus they are very very sexy, in the same mechanical way that a '70 chevelle or a hd anything is. also, chicks dig 'em, liberals hate 'em |
I have 9 Ar's beacuse i have no old lady to nag me about how many guns I have. Oh I have 10 more lowers on the way just in case. I am hopeless and fully infected with black rifle disease. Thes damn guns are cheap, it's all the crap I hang off of them that is expensive!!!!!! Oh and because it's my god given right and well ya...they're bad ass.
Because the wife asked me....."What do you need that for?.
So, I said...." Because my girlfriend thinks it's sexy!". But mostly because I wanted it and it pisses off the Libs! |
-Because it pisses off Sarah Brady
-Because my father insisted that I become proficient with one at an early age -Because I have an obligation to my family to protect what is ours. -Because they are easy to maintain and cheap to run -Because it upsets the lace panty liberals that I am self-sufficient -Because I am the only Dad at my daughter's soccer game with a CCW -Because it is my duty as an American |
It just so DAMN much fun to shoot !!
Yes woman do think its sexy and want for of it too .. Reliable, easy to work on, parts are every where, they are like legos..all the parts fit each other.. Smooth shooting, low recoil, most people ask what is that..specially when they look down range and see your groupings and they are shooting a single bolt.. Best of all because I can ! |
Because it's so damn easy to switch to so many differant cals. Just got to shoot a 458 this past weekend sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
If you need a utility gun, the AR15 is it. from .22lr to 50BMG and damn near everything in between. |
Thanks for your responses, now next time someone says "Why would you want to own one of THOSE", I can respond in a way that they will wish that they never had asked the question.
Because it attracts chicks, especially w/ a 50 cal Beowulf upper.
Long time lurker, first time poster and BRAND NEW AR owner here. I just bought my first (two) ARs this past weekend -- actually bought them for the wife (really, they're hers, not mine!) I chose AR15 for her because:
- Low perceived recoil - Ergonomic controls - Parts availability - You guys told me to I shot one today for the first time and I have to say the AR is SWEET! |
Because a bunch of leftest wackjobs like Sara Brady, Diane Swinestool, Ted Drunkedy, and John F'en Kerry think I shouldn't. So I got TWO!
-J- |
Because I can..... Thanks to everyone that has ever served and fought for that right!!
