Good question. I should have posted that above also. Yes, they are parkerized before the installation of the FSB. All parts are parkerized separately (including barrel, FSB, handguard cap, taper pins) So that all parts have a complete phosphate finish. Also regarding the FSB; it is secured by mil-spec taper pins. The sling swivel is secured by tubular rivets (not pins). Thanks, Paul |

For them prices, I'm thinkin a 20, 16 middy and 14.5.
And the shortys when you get them |
Bravo Company - do you offer a 20", 1/7, 4150, govt profile, mil spec etc etc all the good stuff you're currently doing EXCEPT with a standard or A2 FSB instead of the "f" marked.
I have a Colt A2 upper and lower currently wth an "F" marked M4 barell which is not a correct set up. Thanks I have heard great things about your products! |
Similar request here. One of my build projects is a slabside A1 upper with a midlength 16" barrel. Probably wouldn't go well with an F-marked FSB. Would Bravo swap out FSB's at our request?
Don't worry the F marked FSB works just perfectly on a mid-length and shouldn't cause any issues with the A1 upper... |
Sorry, but we only have the flat top configuration for compatibility reasons. One of the problems of compatibility is all barrels will have the M4 feed ramps. It is very difficult to find an A2 upper that is compatible with that barrel extention. |
I hadn't thought of this. The upper I plan to use is an old school slabside (no forward asst.) Colt A1 upper. I'm sure it won't have M4 cuts in it. My understanding was that it's "okay" to use M4 barrels with non-M4 upper receivers, but not the other way around? Or do I have it backwards? |
There are a variety of opinions on this issue. A lot of folks do say it is ok to use the M4 feed ramp barrel extention with a standard type upper (but not the other way around). But IMHO I just don't like the idea of to mix and match, so generally recommend agaist it. |
I've never understood the idea that Colt owns the M4 feed ramp design. It's not like hundreds of smiths over the years haven't ramped .45s, no single smith, or Colt, or SA or anyone ever claimed ownership of that design so I don't see how Colt can hold any claim that they alone own "M4 feed ramps". Is the issue simply including the adjective "M4" when describing modified/contoured feed ramps?
The courts have recently ruled that the "M4" name specifically is a generic description of a class or style of rifle and is no longer trade marked.
I'm aware of the ruling. My point is it's bizarre that ramping jobs are associated with just the M4 system and are treated with mythical regard. BTW, your offerings look very nice. |
I'm a little slow sometimes so please forgive me, but what does that have to do with the front sight base. Like I say, I'm still learning. Also, do you offer your m4 uppers with bolt and bolt carrier group and CH and some car handgaurds? Very nice looking stuff. I could see the markings in your pictures!! |

Congratulations Paul.
Take care and I wish you and yours a very happy holidays. Regards, Justin |

Thanks! |

The F-marked FSB are machined a bit taller. All current issued (USGI) flat top AR rifles (M4A1, M16A4) all use the taller F-marked FSB to be compatible with current mil-spec height (ie: Colt Carry Handles) back up iron sights. Here is an excerpt from our ad copy: Mil-Spec F-Marked Forged Front Sight Bases Mil-Spec for rifles issued to the troops require taller front sight bases on all flat top AR rifles. Many commercial offerings use M16A2 height front sight bases on all of their barrels regardless of what type of upper it is installed on. As a result, owners of rifles and carbines with the flat top receiver configuration can have problems getting a proper 'zero' for elevation with Mil-Spec back up iron sights. As all of the BCM uppers are built for flat top uppers, all have the proper Mil-Spec F marked front sight base to insure the correct height for iron sight zeroing when using military iron sights. Mil-Spec taper pins secure the forged front sight base with the sling swivel secured by tubular rivets. |

Thank you, I comprehend now. I wasn't sure what m4 feed ramps had to do with the front sight but somehow it makes sense to me now. |

So,us SP-1 owners that want a 11.5" barrel with 1:7 twist and M4 feed ramps are outta luck? |
Clint50,
Every BCM barrel will have the M4 feedramps. I am not sure I understand your question? Thanks, Paul |
Same pricing as the other lengths and profiles. |
Hey Paul,
Any plans for a 14.5" or 16" SOCOM or midweight contours? |
I like the idea of a 14.5" SOCOM profile. But with all the new things we are working on for 2006, we probably won't have additional profiles in the immediate future - beyond the ones listed. Thanks! Paul |
When will the 20" Gov't profiles be ready? I'm feeling another build!
Robert |
Thanks Paul I kinda figured that. I should have bought a Colt barrel from you when you had them! |

As I have been off for the last few days, how nice to find that UPS notification first thing this morning that my BCM upper will be waiting for me when I get home this afternoon.
Thanks Paul, looking foward to getting her down to the shop for a Phantom FS install and running a few rounds through her before the week is done. Mike ps - these guys are great to do business with..... |
best eta would be March. Thanks! |
Thanks and enjoy ! |

Paul,
Will ya'll be able to permanently install the longer type flash hiders on the 14.5s? Eric |
Hi Eric, We won't be doing that in house. But give Denny (Dennys Guns/ GTS) a call. He has the BCM uppers and offers perm flash hider attachment. Thanks, Paul |
Will the Mid-Length uppers be compatable with two peice railed handguard systems like Surefire, YHM and others?
Thank you, Phessor |
Our midlengths will be built with the triangle shaped handguard cap. They should be compatable with any mid length handguard system that is made for a triangle handguard cap. The YHM and MI are made for a triangle cap. The first run of Surefires midlengths (and rifle lengths) were for round caps. I think that was a mistake, as I am not sure of any major manufacturer making mids (or rifle length) with a circle cap. |
I understand that your first priority is to probably use these barrels in complete uppers, but do you have plans to sell just the barrels later?
Really looking for just a 16"middy barrel. Thanks |
We are planning on it, but it won't be for a while yet. Thanks Paul |
