My new build: Fortis + Rainier Select + Seekins + Burris + Misc

That Sir is outstanding. Trigger guard needs some work.

Mine finally got sights. SF Fury and Gear Sector mount should be here next week. Will take some non cheap cell phone pictures then.

Thanks. Yep, kinda cringed when I put that guard on...waiting for the Seekins billet to replace it. Also waiting on Troy battle sights, Tango Down VFG and Burris riser for the FastFire III. Then the 1 X 4 w/ PEPR goes back on my RRA and this one's finished. Going for weight control here!

I don't see a reason why it won't. Just get a long muzzle break or fH.

You guys check your QD points and see if they are uniform.

I just got a set of Troy QD swivels. The rear QD point locks up tight and will not allow the swivel to rotate. The front is sloppy and will pop out when you twist it.

After looking inside the rail, my front doesn't appear to be milled the same as the rear. I just sent a message to Fortis.

ETA: Nevermind. Apparently the socket is milled a little deeper on that one. You have to press it in harder than the other three. Once pressed in firmly it does lock up and will not come back out or rotate.

Could someone with a 14.5" barrel, pinned muzzle device and 12" REV measure from the front edge of the REV to the tip of the muzzle device for me?

I got five of some of the first 12" rails that were sold. rear QD worked great, and the front "election port side" worked to. However, depending on what QD disconnect I used, front bolt release side would pop out. I used colt, troy, daniel defense, and a few random ones. just received 6 blackhawk QD's and I have three more fortis' inbound, ill do the same rigamarole and report back.

I'll check this weekend, I've got a few different muzzle devices, which one are you looking at?

The can I got for my 300 BLK SBR (Spike's MRS-2) uses an alignment collar for mounting. I just need to know that if the tip of my muzzle device is at, say, 16.1" the alignment collar will still be in front of the REV rail. Since the can is too big to fit under the REV, I want to make sure there is enough room.

Here's my SBR barrel with the muzzle device and collar to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

I measured from the end of the muzzle device to the back of the collar, and it's right about 3.5". Theoretically, a 12" rail would be fine (16" - 3.5" = 12.5") but some 12" rails are really a bit longer than 12", so I want to be sure.

Front of my fortis to the back of the muzzle device is 1.75" On 14.5" bcm barrel. From the front of my receiver to the front of my fortis rail is 12.375"  so the 12" fortis rail is actually 12.375" long.  Maybe that will help.  I didn't measure from the tip as every brand muzzle device is different in length.

I have a problem with mine 'stepping down'. That is to say, the top rails aren't on the same plane once the screws are tightened down sufficiently. From this pic it looks like perhaps yours does, too?

Thank you. I'm sure you've heard how light these rails are, but you'll be amazed when you actually receive it. Fortis is definitely some quality kit.

Just installed my 14'' Fortis Rev on a 16'' Spikes yesterday.  Locked up tight...extremely light.  Still waiting on the Noveske NSR rail covers to come in this week.  Will take some better pics then.

You were absolutely right.  I got home and the box from Rainier was sitting on my doorstep.  I leaned over to pick it up and almost threw it into the air.....it was light as a feather!  Couldn't believe it.  I had thought for a moment that I had been shipped the wrong item, then I unboxed it and realized that the rail really is just that light.  Can't wait for my NSR rail covers to arrive!
